The Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) Upstream Gas Processing Facilities project involves the construction of seven new gas processing plants,
temporary construction camps and support facilities. These include integrated operations centres, warehouses, workshops and internal
roadways.
The APLNG project is a joint venture between Origin, ConocoPhillips and Sinopec. It involves the development of existing coal seam gas
fields in the Surat and Bowen basins, construction of a 530km gas transmission pipeline from these gas fields to an LNG facility to be
developed on Curtis Island, near Gladstone, and development of a multi-train LNG facility on Curtis Island. Laing O'Rourke is currently
providing civil and marine infrastructure packages on the island. The project also represents a significant investment in the region,
generating jobs and considerable flow-on benefits throughout the Queensland economy. It will create approximately 6,000 direct jobs
during the peak construction phase (including the gas fields, gas pipeline and LNG facility) and 1,000 jobs during the operation of the
project.
Responsibilities:

Chinchilla (Central) and Wandoan (North). Stage 1 scope of works is valued at approximately $180m. The Construction Manager is the
second in command of the project and manages approximately 260 employees.

In 2004, the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority in conjunction with VicRoads began construction of a new bridge to replace the ageing
bridge structure on the Murray River between Robinvale (Victoria) and Euston (New South Wales). The crossing is crucial to the
interaction of the two communities and is also an essential connection to the regional centres. The new bridge was finished in 2006.
The new bridge replaced a liftspan bridge that was built as part of abandoned railway extension in 1924
Its construction involved the complete removal of the old crossing and the only part of the old structure which now survives is the lift
span, which has been erected in a nearby park in Robinvale as a permanent historical display.
