Personal statement
A conscientious safety focused individual who is highly motivated in furthering career progression in
the field of NDT, currently seeking a new position. A highly organised and efficient individual, whose
thorough and precise approach to projects has yielded excellent results. Recent achievements with
my current employer include a 10 Year interval inspection of the Reactor Pressure Vessel at Sizewell
B working alongside American contract partners Wesdyne, the feedback we got from the customer
and contract partner was excellent considering the lack of operational experience within my current
employer. This along with my willingness to work overseas or within the UK shows my tenacity and
willingness to accept a new challenge and face it head on producing great results. I also believe
strongly in nurturing new talent and contributing to an ethos of knowledge sharing.

Achievements and responsibilities:
Carried out successful automated and manual inspections at 10 year inspection of the RPV at
Sizewell B working alongside Wesdyne.
Became a mentor for a younger work colleague coming through the apprenticeship system,
helping him with his development and any questions he may have.
Implemented an asset management control system for equipment within our office for control
of equipment coming and going from site.
Wrote in house risk-assessments and lead tool box talks for small teams on site.
Used many error prevention tools for maintaining health and safety for example: Take 5’s,
Point of work risk assessments, Stop Think Act and Review, and time out for personal safety

2016
SZB RPV 10 Year Vessel inspection with Wesdyne (Westinghouse) (UT/MT) Role included
running a full MIPS System on the lower robot scanning the bottom half of the Reactor
Pressure Vessel ensuring pre and repeat calibrations were within the allocated timeframe.
Ensuring all pre checks of equipment and Ultrasonic probes was completed as per procedure.
Calibration of manual UT probes and mechanical testing of thread ligament deployment tool.
Inspection and interpretation of thread ligaments using a manual UT technique
Hinkley Point B RHO AUT Outage (UT/MT) Role included lead MIPS Role of Automated
Reheater Outlet penetration inspections at Hinkley Point B. Responsible for ensuring
inspection was carried out as per procedure; all checks and calibrations are completed.
Setting up manipulator used for RHO inspection. Communicating with site lead responsible
for the job and data analyst for verification of data. Liaison with Doosan Site employees for
rigging activities and Radwise for health physics inspection of equipment.
2015
Hunterston B RHO AUTO Outage (UT/MT) Role included MIPS team member of Reheater
Outlet penetration inspections at Hunterston B Point B. Ensuring inspection was carried out
as per procedure; all checks and calibrations are completed. Setting up manipulator used for
RHO inspection. Communicating with site lead. Liaison with Doosan Site employees for
rigging activities and Radwise for health physics inspection of equipment.
Alstom at Rugby for procedure validations on SZB RPV Procedures. (MIPS) Part of Sizewell
B RPV job, Validations for procedure under IVC conditions ensuring that all staff taking part

are competent at running the job on a to scale mock-up of the Reactor Pressure Vessel at
Sizewell B. Validation also took place for manual inspection of thread ligaments
Madrid for commissioning on SZB RPV Equipment (MIPS) First part of the RPV Project, Five
weeks working at Technatom site in Madrid meeting fellow contract partners from Wesdyne,
being introduced to the equipment and then commissioning the equipment ensuring
everything works together. Good exposure to working with foreign speaking contract partners.
Involved in Heysham 1 & 2 C216 RVI Outage works taking on a more senior role with a large
amount of inspections produced and reported. Liaison with Site EDF Materials department
and Responsible Engineers whose plant we had inspected. Exposure to ROVVER, Push
Cam, Extensive use of Video probes and several Foreign object retrieval jobs.
2014
Involved in Sizewell Flywheel inspections at Somanu in France Role included only MIPS
member of the job, responsible for equipment checks, calibrations, setup of the manipulator
and successful inspection of the flywheel key holes. Exposure to working in an environment
where the personnel speak a different language.
Involved in BLIMP site deployment at Hartlepool. Role included working alongside AMEC and
Rolls Royce using the water deployment system, calibrating the UT probe and deploying it,
the video probe and eddy current probe into the bifurcation and down the boiler tubes.
Involved in Dungeness Automated inspections (UT/MT) Role included MIPS team member
helping with equipment checks, calibrations and liaison with site services for the
transportation of equipment inside and outside the RCA
Involved in OEP Inspection at Torness (ET) Role included helping with calibrations of the
eddy current probe, installing the manipulator on the Orifice extension pieces and running the
MIPS System.
2013
Involved in BCU inspections at Heysham 1 (RVI) Role involved first exposure to Remote
Operations mainly taking on the position of watching video data in real time and noting any
observations.
Involved in Heysham 1 Blimp Deployment Role included working alongside AMEC and Rolls
Royce calibrating the UT probe and deploying it into the bifurcation
Involved in Boiler tube leak inspection at Heysham 2 (Remote visual inspection – RVI) Setup
of water deployment system used in BLIMP to identify tube leak and successful identification
of what boiler tube was leaking.
Involved in Manual inspections at Eggborough Power Station. Carried out many manual UT
and MT inspections, performed a minor technical clerk role and shadowed a senior
Technician in his duties.
Involved in Sizewell B Auto NDT outage. Role involved being part of one of many teams at
Sizewell B outage, including carrying out equipment checks, calibrations, manipulator
installations all per procedure and performing the inspection.
Involved in Hartlepool BLIMP Deployment Role included working alongside AMEC and Rolls
