1. Q7: Looking back at your preliminarytask, what do you feel youhave learnt in the progression
from it to the full product?
Comparedtothe preliminarytaskmymusicmagazine looksalotmore detailedandprofessional.I
thinkthat whenIwas doingthe preliminarytaskIwas lessskilledinthe technologyIwasusingas I
had neverusedPhotoshopbefore whichmade itmore difficulttocreate a goodstandard frontcover
but thenwhenIwas creatingmymusicmagazine frontcoverI had beenusing Photoshopforawhile
and gettingmore skilledatit,findingoutnew thingsanditwaseasiertouse.
I can see justby lookingatbothof the frontcoversthat I have improvedandgota betterstandard
musicmagazine thenIdo have inthe preliminarytask.Forexample the titleinthe preliminarytaskis
small anddoesnot coverthe whole of the top of the page and doesn’treallystandoutagainstthe
backgroundso itwouldnotbe appealingtothe targetaudience howeveronthe frontcoverof my
musicmagazine the mastheadisbig, boldandbrightso itstands outand it coversthe whole of the
top of the magazine.
The backgroundof the preliminarytaskisabrick wall andbecause Iwasn’tveryskilledwith
PhotoshopIdidn’tbotherchangingitsothat I had a basic white backgroundandthismeantthatthe
mastheadandany othertextwhichwasput ontothe backgrounddidnotstand outverywell butin
the othermagazine coverI had developedmore skillsusingPhotoshopandsoI knew how tocrop
the picture and make the backgroundall white andthismeantthat all of the textstoodout and
lookedgoodonthe front coverand there wasno distractions.
Before creatingmymusicmagazine Ihad analysedothermusicmagazineswiththe same genre and
so I had an ideaof whattheywere meantto looklike andwhatmade thema good standardand
attractingmagazine;I realisedthatif Iput a colourscheme inplace itwouldmake the magazine look
more professional andmore neat.Overallbecause Idevelopedmyskillsin Photoshopbefore
creatingmy musicmagazine ithelpedalotbecause Icouldbe more confidentincreatingamedia
