1. EVALUATION
QUESTION 7
LOOKING BACK AT YOUR
PRELIMINARY TASK, WHAT DO
YOU FEEL YOU HAVE LEARNT
IN THE PROGRESSION FROM IT
TO YOUR FINAL PRODUCT?
2. RESEARCH AND PLANNING
My knowledge of technology that I have used has
progressed a lot since we started in September, I
now know the basics of Photoshop, which I have
used to create my magazine. I have now got more
advanced knowledge about magazines themselves,
how they are laid out, how they are made what
looks good etc. Throughout the research process I
gained this knowledge, and this gave me a
standard I had to reach for my magazine, which I
think that I gained. Time management was very
important when doing this subject, as there is a lot of
work to do, and you have to put a lot of effort into
the magazine itself to make it a professional
standard.
4. CONSTRUCTION
Looking at my prelim task, you can see that it does not
look professional at all, at the time I thought it did, but
after creating my main product it does not. This shows
that I have developed skills since I started the course,
mainly in ICT and Photoshop. Also looking at colour
schemes, the colours on my prelim are not really
working well together. There is also not a lot happening
on the page, there is not enough puffs, and the sell line
doesn’t stand out. The contents page is also very
standard, there isn’t enough happening on it, There
isn’t a lot of colours and the pictures are too big, there
also isn’t enough content on there. The photo is okay,
although the lighting could be better as there is
shadows. I learnt more how to use the camera and the
lighting metre, this is clear in my final product.
5. LIGHTING
I have a better sense of lighting now, I learnt
how to use the lighting in the studio, and this
helped me get the shot that I wanted
without using any effects. This will help me in
the future when just taking a normal photo,
it will make me think about the lighting.
6. MODELS
The models I have used were very good,
they did everything that I wanted them to
do. In my textual research I looked at how
the models were standing, and what that
meant, so I did this with my models, put
them in a stance that represented a certain
mood.
