Q4. Who would be the audience for your media product?
The audience for my music magazine would have to be teenage to mid
twenties year old women, this is because I think that they will be able to
relate to the magazine and also the music that is protrude in the
magazine, which is pop.
Women are defiantly going to be more drawn towards the magazine,
because of the way that the magazine looks and also what the magazine
talks about.
It was always very deliberate that the magazine was only directed
towards women, the reason for this is because I think that it would be
easier to relate POP music towards women, however some men may
enjoy the magazine but it it predominantly related towards women.
Q5. How did you attract/address your audience?
Before I made my three pieces, I looked into how music magazines address or attract
their audiences. From my research it all comes down to the front cover. If you can make
the front cover interesting and powerful then that’s it your half way there.
A powerful front cover will draw in the readers, so I tried to make mine as funky and
colorful as possible.
I made little things stand out, for instance I turned the Lover
upside down, this was such a simple change but it
automatically draws your attention the the masthead which
is what I wanted. Making little changes like this is what I
think attracts my audience.
By putting some of the writing into a shape, it
makes the front cover look more elegant which in
turn makes people look at the magazine.
Q6. What have you learnt about technologies from the
process of constructing this product?
In the process of making my music magazine I learnt a lot about how to use adobe
Photoshop elements like how to crop pictures, how to fade out stuff in the background
of pictures, but the most helpful thing I learnt to use was how to perfect skin so
blemishing spots and scars out of pictures was really useful in getting the ‘air brushed’
look, I also learnt how to burn eyebrows and eyelashes, this was really helpful when it
came to making the eyes stand out more and look more seductive.
Publisher was also something that I came to use a lot in the final production of my
magazine in this I learnt how to put picture on top of each other and fade pictures into
each other also.
Q7. looking back at your preliminary task, what
do you feel you have learnt in the progression
from it to the full product.
I have learnt so much since I mad my preliminary task, I’ve learnt how to properly
edit pictures and also edited them to a high standard, but I’ve also learnt a lot more
about magazines in general, I’ve learnt about all the different codes and conventions
that music magazines have, I’ve learnt what makes a successful magazine.
I’ve learnt so much since I made my first magazine.
