CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
• With medical director and education manager at the Vanderbilt Comprehensive Care Clinic (VCCC), prepared a
successful federal proposal to lead the Southeast AIDS Education and Training Center (SE AETC) at Vanderbilt. This
$3.8 million cooperative agreement awarded Vanderbilt the lead role in an 8-state region; our proposal was selected
over the incumbent institution that had managed the SE AETC for the last 13 years.
• Develop and manage multiple Ryan White grants for the VCCC, securing approximately $3 million per year over the
last six years.
• Managed Maternal and Child Health Needs Assessment contract between Middle Tennessee State University and the
Tennessee Department of Health – administered budget, managed administrative staff, identified data sources,
coordinated data collection, conducted qualitative research, developed and implemented meeting for statewide
stakeholders – results of assessment used in Tennessee’s $13 million Maternal and Child Health Block Grant to the
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
• Serve on Ryan White Part A Planning Council; co-chair of Council (2012-15) and chair Policies and Procedures
Committee (2011-12). Previously served on community board of Rutherford County Success by Six, an educational
school readiness program for young children and their families; former member of SB6 coalition in Minnesota.
• Administered Death Scene Investigation project for the Tennessee Department of Health; effectively communicated
with the chief medical examiner, the health department, Continuing Education at Middle Tennessee State University,
and first responders across the state to develop curriculum and training for investigating sudden unexpected infant
