2. MEEEEE
• My Name is Camryn A. Davis and I just wanted to say I am blessed to make it to 20
years old.
• I started taking my courses that I needed to become a nurse. I was inspired my aunt
because when I was little I watched her save an old lady’s life and till this day I still
want to be just like her. I recently changed my major to business because their so
many jobs associate with that major, so I decided to go back for nursing a little bit later
on in life.
• Here is a Texas political cartoon that I think represents the state pretty well
3. VOTING
• I want to vote because what people don’t realize is that, your one vote can make a huge
difference. I did not find it fair that you had to be at least 18 to vote I felt 16 could have
been enough. Watching my mom going to the polls motivated me to take the opportunity
to vote on anything that I could get my hands on. I thank god for the 19th amendment and
the changes it has made today.
• I want our government and how the president is running things to change because I feel
like he is going to get us all killed. I do not like how he slogan is make America great again
when he is making enemies with Korea and many others. I also wish that we could have
more democrats in office.
• I want the people who stop trump from trying to change so many laws and make new ones
to continue the good work. The laws that we have right now are just fine. I feel like new
laws will tear this world apart.
4. WHAT I LEARNED
I had no idea that something like the
green party even existed. It was
interesting learning about what it was
about and what things it did to help
with the other parties and are
government.
I would like to learn more about the
death penalty, and why it was brought
into this world. I also want to know why
some of the deaths that took place
back then are banned now and not
able to use anymore.
I was not expecting to learn about two
new parties. I am glad that I did though
because I could take that knowledge
further into pursing my career and
advancing to a bigger college.
5. POLITICAL
ISSUE
• One important political issue that I think is the most
important to consider would be school finance. I
was reading that most schools are having trouble
being able to pay to help for things they need like
new roofs, textbooks, computers etc. The Texas
commission on public school finance says that the
way that schools are funded need to be changed. In
order to increase the states share of education
funding, lawmakers says that oil and gas
productions need to go up. This will be significant
for the future because education is important and if
they don’t have the things they need then how will
our future children learn anything.
6. TEXAS
• Well first off Texas is both traditionist and
individualist and this helps carry it when going
threw it hard times. Texas really does not like
change depending on what it is. Some people will
even make protest and stop at nothing to get the
things they want. Texas is an independent state and
takes very good care of its self. Not to mention that
Texas representatives gives good insight on certain
specific topics. I really do not think that other states
ideas are as realistic as Texas. Texas is a wonderful
statement and I am really going to miss it when I
move to Georgia.
7. TEXAS GOV
• When entering this course I thought I was not
going to learn anything new. I was surprised when
the first chapter we were suppose to read was over
things I never heard of. I was able to understand
what goes in Texas government and why it is run
the way it is. Learning about the different types of
degrees and felonies really had an effect on me
because my first career choice was to become a
cop. Taking this course also helped me realized
that I am a democratic but just because that is it
does not mean I am going to automatically vote
for the democratic president. I also did not
understand how taxes worked and where they are
sent to. This course helped prepare me for things I
needed to know in the future and I am happy that I
got to take it.
