Circular design strategies for packaging and disposables at festivals
Fast moving consumer goods (FMCGs) do not fit well in the Circular Design “Product That Last” framework. These products, often packaging and disposables, only have a short lifetime, but are still a substantial part of our economy. For that reason a new Framework is being created, called “Products That Flow”.
Learn our insights from CIRCO Tracks with more than 30 organisations working in the FMCG sector and work on next steps for the festival sector.
Three circular cases for festivals will be briefly presented. Statements about the role of the designer in this context will be discussed with the audience and an experienced panel of experts will give feedback.

1. Rethink: Fundamental Redesign
Without fundamental redesign and innovation, about 30% of (plastic) packaging will never be
reused or recycled.

2. Reuse
For at least 20% of (plastic) packaging, reuse provides an economically attractive opportunity.
