5. Classroom Procedures
BE ON TIME!!!!!!!!!!
You not only hurt yourself by missing class
time, but you disrupt your classmates learning.
6. Classroom Procedures
continued…
Enter the room quietly.
Check the board for Do-Now Assignment.
Be Seated when the bell rings.
FAILURE TO DO THIS WILL RESULT IN 10 POINTS
DEDUCTED FROM YOUR WEEKLY PARTICIPATION
GRADE!
7. Classroom Rules
Attend to personal needs before coming to class.
You will not be allowed to leave to go to the
bathroom, counselor’s office, teacher’s room,
etc.
I’m still waiting
to go to the bathroom
8. Classroom Rules
continued…
Bring all needed materials to class.
Respect your classmates and their properties.
Remain in your set unless you have permission.
9. Classroom Rules
continued…
You are in high school. Be
responsible and complete
all assignments by the
assigned date.
Turning in work late will
result in the letter grade
dropping each class day the
assignment is late.
If you are absent, it is your
responsibility to get the
missed assignments.
16. Grading Policy
As mandated by Jackson Public School District, the grade from the course will be
calculated based on the following:
• Test – 30%
• Classwork – 30%
• Quizzes – 30%
• Homework – 10%
17. More about Grading…
Weekly participation grade is averaged into the Classwork portion of your
grade.
You will begin the week with a 100.
Attendance, Do No assignments, tardiness, and in-class behavior
(talking, inappropriate cell phone usage, lack of participation, etc.) are
included in the classwork average that is weighted 30% of the overall
average. Each in-class behavior violation results in 10 points off of the
weekly average.
If you are on time, complete the Do Now, are not disruptive in class, and
stay on task, you keep the 100.
It is important that you realize how attendance and appropriate
behavior can tremendously lower your grade.
18. Let’s have a great year!
If there are any questions, now or
in the future, do not hesitate to
ask before, during, or after class.
