My Background:
I grew up in Cananea, Sonora.
I learned English in an American School in my
hometown.
I went to college in Tucson, Arizona.
I have lived in 7 cities, 5 in Mexico, 2 in the U.S.
My Experience:
I have been teaching for 30 years.
I have been a coordinator and a principal.
I have taught from primary up to University.
I love to teach!!!

5. Student Behavior
•Be prompt
Be ready to learn when class begins. Come into the
room and get your books, pencils, notebook and yourself
ready.
•Be prepared
Have materials with you and know due dates
(assignments, special projects, events).
•Be a polite and positive participant
Speak in a normal tone of voice, and listen attentively.
Respect everyone and don’t speak out of turn.
•Be productive
Turn in work on time, and always do your best.
•Be a problem solver
Correct problems quickly and peacefully before they
escalate.
6. ShowRespect
•Value yourself. Be honest and ethical, and
practice strong moral values.
•Treat all members of the school community and
all visitors with politeness and respect.
•Honor the ideas and opinions of others.
•Offer to help.
•Be responsible with property and belongings.
•Take care of school property.
7. Responsibility for coursework
Bring notebook, student’s book, workbook,
planner, English Learner’s Dictionary and
appropriate writing tools to class, ( pencils,
pens, eraser, and sharpener).
Know due dates, and submit all coursework
(homework and projects) on time (no late
work will be accepted).
Do your own work, use legible handwriting
and be neat. Label ALL your work.
8. Do’s and don'ts on assignments
Do label all papers with Name, date, and page number of book if it is
assigned from it.
Do present your best work every single time you have an assignment.
Do be on time with your assignments. NO late work please.
Do label any work assigned in the notebook.
Don’t copy/paste. It is not allowed. Work must be done by you.
Don’t copy from your classmates when doing individual work. This is
penalized.
Don’t lend your work to your classmates so they can copy. It is also
penalized.

The Importance of Speaking English
Speaking English is of great importance now-a-days.
We have become a globalized world where due to
factors that presented themselves years ago, English
became the Universal language. Now….

By showing curiosity about human nature and how the
world works.
By seeking and valuing diversity.
By persisting in seeking out new solutions.
By using your unique talents and intelligence to promote
positive change.
By learning and applying technology tools to solve

11. Policies
Food is not allowed in the classroom unless it is a special
activity.
Please be in your seat at 7:00 A.M., as class begins at that
time.
Being late counts as an absence.
Cell phones must be turned OFF or on VIBRATION MODE.
Laptops may not be used unless specified by teacher.
Students may not leave the room unless you have the teacher’s
permission.
Raise your hand to speak.
Class ends at 8:40, if we start at 7:00 otherwise we will stay to
make up time.

Absences
Ask team members or a classmate first for assignments.
Each absence has a one-day grace period.
12. Grading
•Grades are based on the accumulation of points.
Points are based on:
Class participation
(effort speaking English as much as possible)
Completion of assignments
(daily work, homework)
Major projects, exams, and
self-reflection
Evaluation Criteria
• Class participation,
homework, & class
work = 10%
• Quizzes = 20%
• Projects = 20%
• Exams = 50%
• Totals = 100%
Grades are calculated on
cumulative percentage and
are rounded up whenever
possible.
