Evaluation Question 4
1. Q4.) How did you use media
technologies in the construction and
research, planning and evaluation
stages?
BY BRANTLEY STEER
2. EDITING
For editing, we primarily used a software made by Adobe called ‘Premiere
Pro’. The majority, if not all of our editing was done using this program
primarily due to it being one of the only softwares on offer for this
purpose.
Premiere Pro also allows a wide variety of effects and options for every clip
which came in useful throughout. We were able to also upload many
different formats of files and incorporate them into our video.
We also used Adobe After Effects to add some features and titles to the
video after it had been rendered in Premiere Pro.
We also used other program such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Fireworks
to create and edit images which we incorporated into both our video and
our ancillary tasks.
3. Blogger
We used blogger as an essential tool to keep track and plan what we were
doing before during and after production of the main task including
ancillaries.
We primarily used blogger as a platform for our teacher as well as
examiners to monitor and view the work we had created and shared
through the blogger website.
Finally we used blogger as a platform to embed our music video and
ancillary tasks for both us and our teacher to view and edit according to
what we felt needed to be done aswell as the teacher being able to view
our progress via the Internet from any location rather than needing a
physical copy of our work, which would also have resulted in a lot of paper
and clutter.
4. YouTube
YouTube was primarily used as a source to
upload our music video to for ease of access
by teachers and examiners whi wished to view
it and comment on it.
We also used YouTube for several other things
such as tests we had done for lip syncing,
audience feedback and also our answer to the
first evaluation question.
5. Camera
We opted to use use a DSLR camera for our production primarily due to its
ability to record crisp and clear video footage at a high resolution.
We decided not to use a generic video camera. Although the video
cameras do record in the same resolution we believed that the imagine
quality and colour differentiation from the DSLR was superior to that of the
generic video cameras.
We also chose the DSLR due to its ability to capture still images with clarity
which were then lager used in our music video and our ancillary tasks.
6. Tripod
We used a tripod throughout our entire production of our music video as
well as it being used for ancillary tasks too.
We used a tripod to maintain clear photos and video without any
shakiness being present which is often the case when filming freehand.
Although we did film some shots freehand the majority of filming was
done using the tripod since most of the shots need to be clear and free of
any shakiness.
