1. A screenshot of our analysis of
our survey from Survey Monkey.
How did you use technologies in the planning and research, construction and evaluation stages?
Within the time in which I have been doing this A2 media course, I have used many different types of
technology to ensure a descent quality whilst creating my main product and coursework.
Firstly,in our planning stage to start off with, when we drew up
our storyboard for our music video, we decided it would be
best to hand draw it and take a picture of it. So we used a
digital camera (Canon IXUS 132) to take a picture and
transferred it to our computer to then upload to our blog. We
used the digital camera to give a good quality image for our
blog. We also did the same thing for our group planning. The
reason we used this piece of equipment over other cameras was so that we truly got a professional
looking camera for a good photo.
Within our
research stage we also used a specific kind of technology by
using an online piece of software called Survey monkey to
get peoples thoughts on what they think would make a good
music video, what should be in a music video etc. We used
this software as it was free, easy to distribute and simple to
use. We then used PowerPoint to show our results and analyse
them further. To show our
PowerPoints on our blog we used software called slideshre to
embed our PowerPoints onto our blogs with ease.We used
Survey Monkey over other survey sites because we had more
experience with it and knew it would work well. We used
Slideshare for basically these reason, we had experience and knew how to use it.

timeline of our product.

focus group video.

Upon asking our focus group the interview questions,
we deemed it best to record their response so we
could refer back to it at a
later date. So we decided
to use a Sony Handycam
HDR- PJ220 to record our interview and
then edit and trim it down to a more
professional look in Adobe Premiere
Pro. We then uploaded it to
YouTube to make it far
easier to embed to our blog and
also much easier for all of the
team who need to see this can see it easily. We used premiere pro
over other pieces of software due to the fact we had experience
using the software and we found the software to make our
video more professional We also used YouTube to publish our
video as we knew that lot’s of people use YouTube to find music and therefore would be the best
place to find and further the audience.
Also during our planning stages, we used an online piece of software called Scribd which allowed us
too easily; once again, embed our work onto our blog but with Scribd being a prime one for
transporting word files from our own computers onto our blogs.
When it came down to our actual recording and construction stage, we used a fair amount of
different technology to make our music video
very professional and very well made. To start
off with we used the high definition camera in
which we used in our focus group interview
(Sony Handycam HDR-PJ220) with a tripod to
keep steady and professional angles and shots throughout the video. Once we had filmed our music
video we used an USB cable to transfer the footage and then further edited it and synched it with
the song through the further use of Adobe Premiere Pro.
So finally, when we began construction of our digipak and magazine
advertisement. We first of all acquire a more professional digital
camera for much more high definition and dynamic images so we
decided to use a Fujifilm FinePix S4800 Digital Camera to take images
of Taylor (our singer) and the backing
environment for our advert and digipak. We
used this camera to get the best pictures
possible so that our advert and digipak would
look the utmost professional. We then used
Photoshop to edit the pictures to fit the size of
the digipak and advertisement and after a few
more tweaks with adding texts and adding
layers then we had our final advertisement and
Our final product for our magazine
advertisement after a lot of
Photoshop work done.
3. digipak product. As a team, we hadn’t used it before so we had to learn how to use the software
professionally to make a successful product.
