3. Google
I used good extensively throughout my whole process of research
and development. It helped me to view existing media as well as
find common codes and conventions of existing regional and
fashion magazines. It linked me to the best, most fitting
magazines to use as reference to my production which generally
made my research process a whole lot easier.
Blogger
I’ve used blogger to document every single piece of research and
development, as well as my final production and evaluation. It’s
helped me to keep track of where I was throughout this
assignment. It was easy to keep everything in order and present
it well enough for the reader to navigate their way through
everything and find exactly what they want to see. It was also a
very accessible site, meaning I could amend things either at
home on my computer or on the go on my phone.
4. Wix
I used wix to design and create my website as one of my
ancillary tasks for production. I found this site to be
incredibly useful. It let me choose from a range of
templates on how I wanted to lay my website out. It let
me place images and text absolutely anywhere and was
really quick and easy to organize it the way I wanted it. It
made the use of hyperlinks very easy and also allowed me
to be creative with my work as everything was so easily
customizable.
Social Media/Apps
Throughout my research and development process I used
Facebook mostly to reference my focus group in group
chats. This made it very easy for me to connect with
them as well as for them to relay feedback and
information to me instantaneously. I used Instagram to
find inspiration for certain photos as well as to contact
the model I used for the front cover. I also used google
maps to scout my location of which I would be taking my
photos. This was very helpful as it helped us navigate our
way through each residential road to find the perfect
backdrop for some of the photos.
5. Photoshop
I used Adobe Photoshop extensively through the production
process of my magazine, billboard and advert. Photoshop
allowed me to edit pretty much everything exactly how I
wanted it. From colours to contrast to sharpness and multiple
image layers . It was also incredibly convenient as it offered a
huge range of different tools for me to use all in one
program, which saved me the hassle of going back and forth
between programs in order to get the results I wanted.
Camera – Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH3
I used one of the dslr cameras that the school had to offer to
be able to take my pictures. I could of easily just taken the
pictures on my phone but using a camera like this gave them
so much more of a crisp, professional image which looks
much better throughout my work. The camera was also
equipped with a high grade memory card which meant any
photos that I took could be easily transferred onto the
computer for me to use in my work.
