Unit 15 Overview
Aims and objectives
The aim of this festival poster called Hideout’ festival which
is located in Croatia is to “inform and educate”(Katz) the
audience to try and attract them to come and purchase a
ticket to their festival. The Creators of this poster do this by
using images that are intriguing and make people want to
carry on reading the poster due to the image being
appealing to the target audience. Also another way that the
publisher attracts people to read their poster is by putting
the best acts at the top and in bold writing to make them
stand out more, where as they put the less known acts at
the bottom so that they don’t attract as much attention.
Wiley is a very popular grime artist so therefore this is why
he is at the top of the list so that people can catch their eye
on this icon. Another key characteristic for why Wiley is at
the top of the line up is that he has “464.3k” followers on
twitter where as someone at the bottom like ‘Lee Walker’
only has “1,600” followers. Lastly the noun ‘New Additions’
is a attractive word that makes people want to see the new
additions that may be featuring in the upcoming festival.

Target audience
Although there is no specific target audience for the
festival, however I can assume that the party life out
there maybe seen as the extreme side due to the
videos have seen on YouTube and the minimum age
of drinking is 18 so of course you have to be at least
18. The target audience for the Hideout festival in
Croatia is from the minimum age of 18 to around 25
this is due to the fact that it is in Croatia so you need
to be old enough to fly out, but although 18 is still not
that old, but the price range of the festival isn’t
expensive- £129 but this is only the price for the
festival you will still need to pay for flights,
accommodation etc. Audience theories “diversion”
Escapism is used in the name “Hideout” as the
people who are going to festival use the term hideout
as if they are hiding from reality from home which is a
big attraction for most of the people that attend this
festival. The drug abuse that will be at this festival
also connotes to the name as because they are at
the festival they have a reason to do these drugs
without getting into trouble from family, police for
example
Target audience continued
• The majority of people who be attending
festivals such as ‘Hideout’ will be young
adults that enjoy the party life. The use of
“diversion”- escape from everyday problems
and routine, this will give everyone who
attends the festival, the escape from the
reality at home. They will get the feeling that
they can do anything they want due to not
having the same routine as what they have at
home, for example working 5 days a week.
The festival in Croatia also uses another
audience theory of Surveillance due to the
fact that the promoters are uploading pictures
at the beach with lovely weather, what can go
wrong? This is where the promoters are good
at their job because they attract young adults
to come to their festival, by uploading
pictures on boats with blaring colours and
nice blue water and hot sunlight.
representation
• Hideout festival is a festival located in the Croatia in the
middle of the summer so therefore an audience theory
that could connote to my festival is Male gaze- Laura
Mulvey; at a festival there are different genres of music so
I would say the music will be eclectic this is because
everyone likes different music so I can’t stereotype a
specific genre due this not being fair. Also men at a
festival will wear old used clothing due to the fact that all
clothes get ruined as you will be partying in them, which is
why the majority of people will be wearing wellingtons so
that they don’t ruin their trainers. But at this festival the
weather will be nice so they won’t need to wear clothing
for the winter. Due to the festival I have picked being in
the summer this influences “John Berger” theory of ‘men
act, women appear’ this theory will demonstrate to myself
that women may wear clothing to suit the weather so
therefore this may be bikini’s and clothing that reveals
more of their body than usually which is the reason why
men objectify women in this way. Which this is also similar
to the theory “Female gaze”(Diana Saco) which the typical
female age for this festival will be around 18-24 so these
females are responsible for their actions therefore if they
Campaign message
The advertising campaign is targeted at
old teenagers that will be able to afford
to go to Croatia and party out there.
The message that the poster is trying
to achieve is that the island that the
festival is at is a party island. But also
they are trying to give an impression to
the audience that this festival isn’t of
the ordinary as it is in Croatia, with
beaches hot weather; this defiantly
illustrates to the audience that this
festival is above the rest due it being
abroad and away from home. The
bottom left picture of the two girls
relaxing in the see can demonstrate to
the audience that the festival isn’t just
about partying, you can also relax their
and enjoy the weather, it isn’t just
straight partying. In my opinion I feel
like this will attract a big amount of
people due to their being a relaxing
side to the festival as well.
Print based advertisement
• Hideout festival released many posters to promote their festival in the
best way as possible. There are several ways that Hideout promoted
their festival on social media accounts such as Facebook and twitter as
this is where a they will attract a large amount of their target audience
due to the fact that Facebook and twitter are big social media links which
people use on a day to day basis. Furthermore, another way that hideout
may advertise their festival is on their official website which is also a big
way that they can attract their audience. A big way that I think they attract
their audience as well is by uploading pictures of previous Hideout
festivals which will attract people to want to come to the festival the
following yea. All of the advertisements use the same colour and themes
for every poster, the colours that are used are different shade of blues
this is therefore to grab the audiences attention that the location of the
festival is near a beach and the weather is nice as it is located in Croatia.
Legal and ethical
• When any publisher creates a poster for advertisement for their
festival, they need to take in mind that they don’t have any
copyright infringement. So all of the artists that are featuring
at the festival will give the publisher permission for the artists
name to be on the line up, if they didn’t then this therefore
means the artist has the rights to contact the publisher and
take it down. Also the content that is being used for the poster
can also be used for copyright, but in this case it is called
intellectual property, This is because the font that is going to
be used for the poster might have been used illegally, which will
be the publisher not asking the creator of that specific font
which then the owner of the font can either get the publisher to
remove the font or he can give them a large fine. The publisher
will have to send the producer royalties to be allowed to use
his fonts.
Ethical and legal
issues
• The independent press standards organizations(ipso) who are
an independent regulator who set out rules and regulations that
media companies are in competition with. We hold newspapers
and magazines to account for their actions, protect individual
rights, uphold high standards of journalism and help to maintain
freedom of expression for the press. They hold newspapers and
magazines to account for their actions, protect individual rights,
uphold high standards of journalism and help to maintain
freedom of expression for the press.
• The ASA is a non-statutory organization and so cannot interpret
or enforce legislation. However, its code of advertising practice
broadly reflects legislation in many instances.
• If ’Hideout’ publishers got reported for ethical and legal issues
in their advertisement posters then this could furthermore lead
to them getting fined and have to remove the poster due to
copyright issues, if this carried on and escalated then ‘Hideout’
could get closed down and will not be able to carry on with their
festival as they are using other peoples work for their
advertisement.

Ofcom
• Ofcom is a communicator which is located in the united
Kingdom they regulate On the TV, Radio, Videos on
demand and more but this is important because they they
check for any scams that are occurring within the internet
or Wi-Fi. Also they make sure that people in the Uk get
the best communications signals and also prevent anyone
from getting scammed. Ofcom does relate to my festival
as when my Hideout festival gets advertised on the
Television, they ensure that everything is correct within
the audio of the advert and they make sure that there is
no bad language ect in the video as this will be on
television or on the radio.
Regulatory bodies
A regulatory body is like a professional body but it is not a membership
organization and its primary activity is to protect the public. ASA or
Advertising standards authority is a self regulatory organization that is located
in the United Kingdom, there job is to prevent any adverts from having any
inappropriate content that may get people to complain about the specific
advert. They have to make sure that everything is within the rules and
regulations so that the audience don’t feel like they have been abused in any
sort of way. Even if the advert has false content or even they are
exaggerating what they are trying to sell , then the ASA will have to say
something so that no complaints can be sent. Also ASA covers most
advertisements in social media which will include Newspapers, posters,
magazines, radio, television and most segments online for example online
broachers. Also on the ASA website it illustrates how they handle complaints
as their focus is is on providing a fair process for everyone who is involved,
also one complaint can prompt us to take action if there is a problem under
the advertising rules then ASA will have to get involved and try to solve the
issue.

Audio-visual Advertisements

Audio visual advertisement continued.
These two pictures illustrates to the
audience that the festival isn’t too much
money so therefore it is definitely
affordable for the specific target
audience, and also the audio visual
advertisement contains information about
the artists that will be performing at the
festival.
Target audience audio visual advertisement
• Although there is no specific target audience for the festival, however
I can assume that the party life out there maybe seen as the extreme

the name as because they are at the festival they have a reason to
do these drugs without getting into trouble from family, police for
example. This festival is trying to attract male and female this is
because the audio visual are trying to attract a variety of different
people so that more people can enjoy it and they will be able to get
more people attending. This will relate to Katz theory as the
audience will be able to identify the artists that will be playing at the
festival as they will aspire to be someone else, also the people
attending the festival will use the place that they are at as a type of
escapism as they do not have to worry about anything as they are
Similarities and differences between
poster and audio visual
• There are two different types of advertisements, one being
audio visual advertisement the other being print based
advertisement. Print based advertisement will be advertisement
on a poster or a millboard which will be put up on the side of a
road or in high street where it is busy. But audio visual
advertisement will be seen as advertising something during a
video, but therefore this will be a video of the festival watching
a artist perform. Which this will attract a large amount of people
because this is what people like at a festival good music and
good vibes.
• The main differences between print based and audio will be
that print based will show a lot more artists that will be
performing at the festival, and it will contain a lot more
information than the audio visual due to the act that it will just
be a video of the festival and what happens there. Also audio
visual will be videos of the surrounding area in Croatia as this
is a huge attraction of the festival because it is abroad
Representation
• The stereotypical representation of the typical people who you
will find at a festival will be Teenagers from 16-20 and even
above, the majority of these will me men but there will still be
a fair amount of girls going. The stereotypical attitudes of
most of the ravers that attend these types of festivals are wild,
loud and reckless which can be reason why fights and conflict
occur, but the main reason for the fights and conflicts that
occur at these types of festivals is because of the alcohol and
illegal substances that are taken, Furthermore another reason
for conflict to occur is when there are bands on at a festival
the crowds always try to start mosh pits where everyone
starts pushing each other this sometimes leads to fights
occurring as someone people don’t like being pushed by
people they don’t know. This may link to a theorist called
‘Diana Saco’ as men may do this to showoff in front of the
women to try get them to stare at them instead, also this is
seen as the other way as well; women may wear a minimal
amount of clothing to get boys attention which is male gaze
‘Laura Mulvey’
Campaign message
• Audio visual advertisement is a good way of attracting a specific target audience as they use
tactics when they are videoing that they get the best parts of the festival involved with the
most colorful lights, which therefore makes people who are watching it on a computer as the
publisher make it look as crazy a possible by adding in little edits which may make it look
more colorful. Also another good tactic which the publishers will use will be seen as
releasing the video of the festival much earlier than when the festival is occurring this is due
to the fact that they want to get as many people as possible to view it and get attracted in to
buying a ticket. Also below the audio visual advertisement they put the link to the website
below the video, so that when someone finish’s watching the advert they will be drawn into
clicking on the website where the tickets are getting sold. At the start and the end of the
advertisement they will use their logo of the festival with bright colours to attract you to come
which this can be seen as brand recognition, which is why they use these colours.
Furthermore, another segment that the publishers will add to their audio visual
advertisement will be ‘still artists to be announced’ which will get people to be hooked on to
their website seeing who the next headliners will be.
Print based advertisement used in the
campaign
• For Hideout festival, there are several different print based advertisements used in the
campaigns posters, as this is how they will sell the majority of there tickets to their festival; They
do this by putting the main headliners in bold dark writing as this will attract the audience to
have a look at the headliners, which then they will see that there are well known good acts and
Dj’s and Artists playing and performing at the festival. Also there isn’t just one Specific genre of
music going to be at this festival there is a big variety of music so this therefore means that they
will have a vast target audience due to the different music. The background of the line up shows
a picture of the night life at this festival, but this is behind the line up. I feel like they done this
because they are trying to get a point across that the night life there is always on point because
they put a picture of the ravers partying on every bit of advertisement, therefore this is them
trying to attract people to buy a ticket or it will look like you are missing on the partying side of
the festival. Hide out festival have several different ways of Technical convergence to advertise
there festival as much as possible. Furthermore this is a very good way of advertisement
because before the festival they will get as many people to add the social media link and they
will be uploading videos constantly, which will be attracting all the people who didn't go to go to
the following year due to how good it looks. Also I found a advertisement of the Hideout festival
on BBC 1 xtra with other following festival that are in the UK,
Legal and ethical
• The independent press standards organizations(ipso) who are
an independent regulator who set out rules and regulations that
media companies are in competition with. We hold newspapers
and magazines to account for their actions, protect individual
rights, uphold high standards of journalism and help to maintain
freedom of expression for the press. They hold newspapers
and magazines to account for their actions, protect individual
rights, uphold high standards of journalism and help to maintain
freedom of expression for the press.
• If ’Hideout’ publishers got reported for ethical and legal issues
in their audio advertisements then this could furthermore lead
to them getting fined and have to remove the poster due to
copyright issues, if this carried on and escalated then ‘Hideout’
could get closed down and will not be able to carry on with their
festival as they are using other peoples work for their
advertisement.
method
• Hideout festival 2017 has been advertised in several
different places such as facebook, twitter and other
social media links. This is important because this is
a significant way for the the festival publishers to
promote their festival in the best way as possible,
and them putting it on large social media accounts
will get them there majority of adverts, this is
therefore because everyone uses social media on a
daily basis so if one person reposts it then the
amount of people who see it will be increasing. Also
a big advertisement for the ‘Hideout’ festival is that
the artists that are performing at the festival will post
on their social media accounts saying that they will
be performing there so therefore this will also attract
a large amount of people to the festival seeing their
favorite artists.
Method- advertisement
Method of my festival will consist of advertising it on social media
or even on billboards, posters ect. But I feel like social media is a
better way of advertising a festival due to the target audience of
the festival will be using social media to get information about
the festival so therefore social media advertisement will be the
best way of advertisement. To advertise on Facebook or twitter it
will cost £3 a day which is cheap considering how many people
do use Facebook on a daily basis. I will start by advertising my
festival at least 3-4 months before it occurs, due to the fact as
this will give it time to get around this will also this will allow
people to prepare for the festival . The best way of advertising is
by using audio visual advertisement as the audience will be able
to see what the festival is about and what occurs there, for
example how many stages, where the festival is an how many
people attending each year.
Method part 2
There are several ways of advertising for a festival but
the best way to do it is to release the advertisements a
early as possible, this is because Hideout festival is a
festival that is abroad so you will have to book flights,
accommodation ect, so the earlier you book you the
cheaper everything will be, so it is best to advertise it
earlier. The hideout festival snap chat ‘HideoutCroatia
is a big way of advertising because they will show
previous clips of the last years festival. This is importa
because this is a significant way for the the festival
publishers to promote their festival in the best way as
possible, and them putting it on large social media
accounts will get them there majority of adverts, this is
therefore because everyone uses social media on a
daily basis so if one person reposts it then the amount
of people who see it will be increasing. Also a big
advertisement for the ‘Hideout’ festival is that the artis
that are performing at the festival will post on their
social media accounts saying that they will be
performing there so therefore this will also attract a
large amount of people to the festival seeing their
Method part 2 radio advertisement
• Also Hideout festival is advertised on the TV and also a
variety of social media links such as twitter, facebook,
YouTube and on the internet but a big type of
advertisement that Hideout festival achieved this year is
that BBC Radio 1 mentioned them as one of the best
festivals around. This is essential for ‘Hideout’ festival as
BBC Radio 1 plays a variety of music that teenagers love,
which is why it is one of the most popular radio stations in
the United kingdom, so therefore this could be a big
reason why ‘Hideout festival’ get most of their customers.
Conclusion
• To conclude l01 unit 15 I will finish of by stating that all of this
information has helped to understand that advertisement is the best
way to get your festival known, the two sections of advertisement will
be seen as audio visual advertisement and print based
advertisement, in my opinion I think that audio visual advertisement is
the better one due to the fact that you can watch what has occurred at
previous festivals. A type of print based advertisement will be seen as
poster with the line up and what DJ’s and artists will be featuring at
the festival. Furthermore you need to relate both types of
advertisement to the specific target audience for the festival; this is
because if you don’t do this then this will mean that none of the target
audience will be attracted to the advertisement, which will mean they
may feel like the festival is not for them more because the music that
is being played there may have changed; this is why it is essential to
keep the same genre of music at a festival but extend the genre so
that the target audience will be bigger as well, which furthermore
means you will get more people attending the festival which means
more money will be made.
Proposal – RapCity
Spending power
• My advertisement will be advertised in several
different places, such as social media-
Facebook, twitter, this is due to the fact that the
target audience of my festival will be using
Facebook and twitter on a daily basis. Also I
will be advertising in magazines, newspapers,
posters and maybe billboards this is because
magazines and newspapers get read by
thousands of people everyday. To do
advertisement on social media it is £3 day or
£15 a week this is will be good due to the fact
that I won’t have to advertise it for too long on
social media due to the fact that it is so popular.
Hopefully this will all be made up by the
amount of people that will see the
advertisement and turn up to the festival.
Advert advertising rates
• Advertising rates for Facebook and twitter = and all social media
account should never be more that $5 dollars a day so therefore this
will be around £4 a day, so say if I advertise for two weeks this will
come to around £56, this is essential because I feel like this will be
the best type of advertisement that I can get, other than magazines
but I feel like magazines may bring me the wrong target audience.
Although I feel like it may bring me the wrong target audience I still
am going to advertise something in magazines, just so that I make
sure that I get my festival out there. As shown down below the bigger
the advertisement the more expensive that it will be.
• I will want

Mind map ideas
Name: Rap City the
denotations of this festival will
give the ravers that they don’t
have to worry about life at
home, escape of reality from
home.
The target audience for the Rap City is in Bournemouth and
the minimum age of 18 to around 25 which is due to the fcat
that it is not a young aged themed festival , but although 18 is
still not that old, but the price range of the festival isn’t
expensive.
RapCity will yearly due to
the fact that I will be a huge
event in the same location.
The connotation of my colours-
yellow, blue and orange will
insinuate the fact that this festival
is abroad in Croatia rather than be
located in England.
The colour yellow can convey to the
target audience that the weather is
going to be hot, due to the yellow
being similar to the sun, also the
colour yellow will refer to the sand
which at the festival there will be
beaches with lovely warm sand
which is very attractive for people
who like hot weather.
The colour blue can put pictures in to the
audience head of a nice looking sky with a
sea which is unusual for a festival to have.
Also blue can represent trust, loyalty and
heaven so therefore this will symbolize that
this festival is one of the best around.
The colour orange can represent to the
audience that this holiday will be located in hot
area which is Croatia, orange connotes that
there will be lovely sunshine and heat, also it
could relate to happiness and excitement for the
festival itself due to the fact that the ravers will
have an amazing time.
Mood board
Mood board
• I have chosen these pictures for my mood board due to
the fact that they convey the scenery of where the festival
is, which is the main attraction for all ravers that go to this
festival. The beach is also a big attraction because hardly
any festivals have beaches, hot weather, boat parties and
pool parties? This demonstrates to the audience that this
festival is a one and only festival. This juxtaposes festivals
like reading and leads because they are not near a sea
side so there will be no beach parties and boat parties,
and the festival will be Located in a field etc., where
‘RapCity’ is located in Bournemouth with a beach and it
should be good weather because my festival is , this
illustrates how good this festival really is.

Logo Design
• My festival is called RapCity this is due to the
fact that my festival is a place to escape from
reality of life back at home, which is why I
created the logo with a music note and wings
on the side, this is because I am trying to
illustrate to the audience when you come to my
festival the music will take you to another place.
Also RapCity can also demonstrate that all the
best rappers will be in this city at one time,
which will be a big attraction for the audience ;
because the name will draw the audience to
want to know more about the festival and know
who will be involved in the line up ect. Also I am
going to use several social media links so that
the audience can know more information nearer
to the time ,which will make the audience
looking forward to the festival more!
Photo-shoot plan
This my photo-
shoot plan where I
stated the
stereotypical
people who will be
going to the festival
and what the
typical clothing
type is ect.
House style
• House style is a very essential section of creating your festival poster
due to the fact that if you make the font as aesthetically pleasing as
possible then you a more likely to attract more people to wanting to
read the poster and se what artists are playing ect. The colours that
I'm going to use for my poster will be seen as yellow, orange and blue
so therefore this will attractive a specific target audience that like
festivals aboard due to the fact that the colours are symbolizing the
festival itself. Orange can symbolize the hot weather, yellow can
symbolize the sand and blue is similar to the sun. So therefore I may
do my fonts the same colours so I get a point into the audience’s head
that this festival will be aboard in a lovely location in Croatia, in the
summer time as well so it is guaranteed nice weather unlike a festival
in the United Kingdom where the weather can bad or good. But this
festival is guaranteed to be nice weather pretty much every day. I May
even implement the colour black due to the colour being bold and it
stands out very well when someone is looking at a poster.
Main headliners and artists
• There will be a variety of different
headliners and artist attending the festival
this is due to keep the genre as broad as
possible, because this will mean that as
many people will go as possible because
everyone will like the music genres there.
There will be house music, grime, rap,
drum and bass and American hip hop. So
therefore there will be artists like AJ
Tracey, Nines, Kano, 67, drum and bass
artists and DJ’s such as Andy C, logan D,
Traumatic, Sasasa. Also there will be
artists coming from America such as
Migos, lil durk, Eminem ect. Also there is
a dance stage full of DJs for the house
section that will be released closer to the
time.
Production plan
Location Reece
This is my location Reece where I describe to the audience where my photos have been taken, who
is in my photo and why I used this specific location to take these photos, so in there I described all
of this.
photos
Here are some of my own photo’s which I took of my mate ‘Owen’ these
photo's are from radio where he is rapping grime, this is essential
because this is the main genre that is going to be at my festival, so

When advertising my magazine or poster for my festival, I need to make sure
I’m not spending to much money due to the fact that this all needs to be made
back with the festival itself. The advertisement in the magazine will cost at least
£2,500 and I would want to release my advertisement in a magazine like MTV
due to this will be the type of music genre at my festival, so therefore this will be
the specific magazine to attract customers to attend my festival. If I was just to
advertise my festival through posters which will be a much cheaper version but
therefore may not get as many people viewing it than a magazine. A poster
would be around £1500 not including EX-VAT which will be around £500. For
the equipment and staff that I added, this is just an estimate because I may not
need four computers and a different photographer and editor because maybe
the photographer can do both of these roles.
Launch date
• I am going to release my launch date for April
the 8th this is due to the fact that this is a
month or two before the summer holiday
where the festival is going to take place so
this will allow me a couple months to
advertise the festival and try to attract as
many people as possible, my festival is in the
summer because the weather should be
perfect, everyone should be able to get time
of work due to it bring the summer, this
furthermore means that if it is in the summer
then I may be getting six formers attending
the festival due to them finishing there
studying which may mean I need to up the
genre in the grime and house section ; this is
because most 18 year old listen to grime and
house on the side so if I do get in some more
grime artists then I publish it well then this
will mean that I could extend the target
audience in the teenager section. My festival
date will be the 27th june till the 30th june
Legal and ethical constraints
Advertising is essential especially when advertising something big like a festival
a music event due to the fact that many people will be viewing these so
therefore you have to make sure that everyone is correct and there is no
misleading information that you may contain on the poster or magazine advert.
Therefore following the rules of AsA is significant, also following the rules of
advertising codes because this will mean that if add in any information that
doesn’t seem right then AsA have the rights to insert a complaint and I will have
to remove the poster from getting advertised. It is also significant to have the
correct dates of my festival because if I don’t then this will be seen as
misleading information which could lead to a sanction or even a fine if it come
down to it
Risk assessment
Planning for a audio visual advertisement
• If I was to create a audio visual advertisement I will create short
clips of a previous festival, to ensure that the audience will get
drawn in to the video by artists that they may be interested in.
Therefore I will start of the audio visual advertisement by
recording a act on the main stage but only if the crowd Is going
mad, this is due to the fact that this will attract a certain target
audience and will make them feel jealous because the crowd is
looking crazy. Also I will record videos of the surrounding
scenery because this will be in Bournemouth so therefore I will
record the beach and the hot weather, due to the festival being
in the summer so the chances of there being warm weather is
high. Also by me doing this I will hopefully attract a large
amount of people to come to my festival because of the
advertisement.
Ethical and legal issues
• The independent press standards organizations(ipso) who are an independent regulator who
set out rules and regulations that media companies are in competition with. We hold
newspapers and magazines to account for their actions, protect individual rights, uphold high
standards of journalism and help to maintain freedom of expression for the press. They hold
newspapers and magazines to account for their actions, protect individual rights, uphold high
standards of journalism and help to maintain freedom of expression for the press.
• The ASA is a non-statutory organization and so cannot interpret or enforce legislation.
However, its code of advertising practice broadly reflects legislation in many instances.
• If ’Hideout’ publishers got reported for ethical and legal issues in their advertisement posters
then this could furthermore lead to them getting fined and have to remove the poster due to
copyright issues, if this carried on and escalated then ‘Hideout’ could get closed down and will
not be able to carry on with their festival as they are using other peoples work for their
advertisement. When any publisher creates a poster for advertisement for their festival, they
need to take in mind that they don’t have any copyright infringement. So all of the artists that
are featuring at the festival will give the publisher permission for the artists name to be on the
line up, if they didn’t then this therefore means the artist has the rights to contact the publisher
and take it down. Also the content that is being used for the poster can also be used for
copyright, but in this case it is called intellectual property, This is because the font that is
going to be used for the poster might have been used illegally, which will be the publisher not
asking the creator of that specific font which then the owner of the font can either get the
publisher to remove the font or he can give them a large fine. The publisher will have to send
the producer royalties to be allowed to use his fonts.
Audio visual Advertisement
• Audio visual advertisement will be seen as short clips of live bands
which this will illustrate people who haven’t been to festivals before
what happens when watching a live performance, furthermore this
may attract people to buy tickets for the following one. Also if these
clips are posted on social media links such as YouTube, Facebook or
twitter then they will get viewed by a considerable amount of people
due to how popular these social media accounts are, so this is
furthermore a big advantage for the festival publishers due to the fact
that this will attract a lot of people to buy tickets for the following
event. This may only occur if the coverage is good and if the band are
well known to the target audience then this may intrigue people. Also
another way to attract people to buy tickets to the festival is by adding
a link to the official website where tickets can be bought. For example
when I go on the festival that I am researching they talk about the
acts and then add the link to the website where it insinuates to the
audience that the price of the festival isn’t too expensive.

Unit 15- print base advertising

  • 1. – Level 3 Cambridge Introductory Diploma in Media Unit 15: Print Based Advertising St. Andrew’s Catholic School – Billy Simmonds - 3133 Unit 15 Overview
  • 2.
  • 3. Aims and objectives The aim of this festival poster called Hideout’ festival which is located in Croatia is to “inform and educate”(Katz) the audience to try and attract them to come and purchase a ticket to their festival. The Creators of this poster do this by using images that are intriguing and make people want to carry on reading the poster due to the image being appealing to the target audience. Also another way that the publisher attracts people to read their poster is by putting the best acts at the top and in bold writing to make them stand out more, where as they put the less known acts at the bottom so that they don’t attract as much attention. Wiley is a very popular grime artist so therefore this is why he is at the top of the list so that people can catch their eye on this icon. Another key characteristic for why Wiley is at the top of the line up is that he has “464.3k” followers on twitter where as someone at the bottom like ‘Lee Walker’ only has “1,600” followers. Lastly the noun ‘New Additions’ is a attractive word that makes people want to see the new additions that may be featuring in the upcoming festival. https://twitter.com/WileyUpda tes?lang=en-gb
  • 4. Target audience Although there is no specific target audience for the festival, however I can assume that the party life out there maybe seen as the extreme side due to the videos have seen on YouTube and the minimum age of drinking is 18 so of course you have to be at least 18. The target audience for the Hideout festival in Croatia is from the minimum age of 18 to around 25 this is due to the fact that it is in Croatia so you need to be old enough to fly out, but although 18 is still not that old, but the price range of the festival isn’t expensive- £129 but this is only the price for the festival you will still need to pay for flights, accommodation etc. Audience theories “diversion” Escapism is used in the name “Hideout” as the people who are going to festival use the term hideout as if they are hiding from reality from home which is a big attraction for most of the people that attend this festival. The drug abuse that will be at this festival also connotes to the name as because they are at the festival they have a reason to do these drugs without getting into trouble from family, police for example
  • 5. Target audience continued • The majority of people who be attending festivals such as ‘Hideout’ will be young adults that enjoy the party life. The use of “diversion”- escape from everyday problems and routine, this will give everyone who attends the festival, the escape from the reality at home. They will get the feeling that they can do anything they want due to not having the same routine as what they have at home, for example working 5 days a week. The festival in Croatia also uses another audience theory of Surveillance due to the fact that the promoters are uploading pictures at the beach with lovely weather, what can go wrong? This is where the promoters are good at their job because they attract young adults to come to their festival, by uploading pictures on boats with blaring colours and nice blue water and hot sunlight.
  • 6. representation • Hideout festival is a festival located in the Croatia in the middle of the summer so therefore an audience theory that could connote to my festival is Male gaze- Laura Mulvey; at a festival there are different genres of music so I would say the music will be eclectic this is because everyone likes different music so I can’t stereotype a specific genre due this not being fair. Also men at a festival will wear old used clothing due to the fact that all clothes get ruined as you will be partying in them, which is why the majority of people will be wearing wellingtons so that they don’t ruin their trainers. But at this festival the weather will be nice so they won’t need to wear clothing for the winter. Due to the festival I have picked being in the summer this influences “John Berger” theory of ‘men act, women appear’ this theory will demonstrate to myself that women may wear clothing to suit the weather so therefore this may be bikini’s and clothing that reveals more of their body than usually which is the reason why men objectify women in this way. Which this is also similar to the theory “Female gaze”(Diana Saco) which the typical female age for this festival will be around 18-24 so these females are responsible for their actions therefore if they
  • 7. Campaign message The advertising campaign is targeted at old teenagers that will be able to afford to go to Croatia and party out there. The message that the poster is trying to achieve is that the island that the festival is at is a party island. But also they are trying to give an impression to the audience that this festival isn’t of the ordinary as it is in Croatia, with beaches hot weather; this defiantly illustrates to the audience that this festival is above the rest due it being abroad and away from home. The bottom left picture of the two girls relaxing in the see can demonstrate to the audience that the festival isn’t just about partying, you can also relax their and enjoy the weather, it isn’t just straight partying. In my opinion I feel like this will attract a big amount of people due to their being a relaxing side to the festival as well.
  • 8. Print based advertisement • Hideout festival released many posters to promote their festival in the best way as possible. There are several ways that Hideout promoted their festival on social media accounts such as Facebook and twitter as this is where a they will attract a large amount of their target audience due to the fact that Facebook and twitter are big social media links which people use on a day to day basis. Furthermore, another way that hideout may advertise their festival is on their official website which is also a big way that they can attract their audience. A big way that I think they attract their audience as well is by uploading pictures of previous Hideout festivals which will attract people to want to come to the festival the following yea. All of the advertisements use the same colour and themes for every poster, the colours that are used are different shade of blues this is therefore to grab the audiences attention that the location of the festival is near a beach and the weather is nice as it is located in Croatia.
  • 9. Legal and ethical • When any publisher creates a poster for advertisement for their festival, they need to take in mind that they don’t have any copyright infringement. So all of the artists that are featuring at the festival will give the publisher permission for the artists name to be on the line up, if they didn’t then this therefore means the artist has the rights to contact the publisher and take it down. Also the content that is being used for the poster can also be used for copyright, but in this case it is called intellectual property, This is because the font that is going to be used for the poster might have been used illegally, which will be the publisher not asking the creator of that specific font which then the owner of the font can either get the publisher to remove the font or he can give them a large fine. The publisher will have to send the producer royalties to be allowed to use his fonts.
  • 10. Ethical and legal issues • The independent press standards organizations(ipso) who are an independent regulator who set out rules and regulations that media companies are in competition with. • 11. Ofcom • Ofcom is a communicator which is located in the united Kingdom they regulate On the TV, Radio, Videos on demand and more but this is important because they they check for any scams that are occurring within the internet or Wi-Fi. Also they make sure that people in the Uk get the best communications signals and also prevent anyone from getting scammed. Ofcom does relate to my festival as when my Hideout festival gets advertised on the Television, they ensure that everything is correct within the audio of the advert and they make sure that there is no bad language ect in the video as this will be on television or on the radio.
  • 12. Regulatory bodies A regulatory body is like a professional body but it is not a membership organization and its primary activity is to protect the public. ASA or Advertising standards authority is a self regulatory organization that is located in the United Kingdom, there job is to prevent any adverts from having any inappropriate content that may get people to complain about the specific advert. They have to make sure that everything is within the rules and regulations so that the audience don’t feel like they have been abused in any sort of way. Even if the advert has false content or even they are exaggerating what they are trying to sell , then the ASA will have to say something so that no complaints can be sent. Also ASA covers most advertisements in social media which will include Newspapers, posters, magazines, radio, television and most segments online for example online broachers. Also on the ASA website it illustrates how they handle complaints as their focus is is on providing a fair process for everyone who is involved, also one complaint can prompt us to take action if there is a problem under the advertising rules then ASA will have to get involved and try to solve the issue. https://www.asa.org.uk/about-asa-and-cap/the-work-we- do/how-we-handle-complaints.html
  • 13. Audio-visual Advertisements • Aims and objectives of the audio visual • Target audience • Representation • Campaign message • Print based advertisement used in the campaign • Legal and ethical • method
  • 14. Audio visual advertisement continued. These two pictures illustrates to the audience that the festival isn’t too much money so therefore it is definitely affordable for the specific target audience, and also the audio visual advertisement contains information about the artists that will be performing at the festival.
  • 15. Target audience audio visual advertisement • Although there is no specific target audience for the festival, however I can assume that the party life out there maybe seen as the extreme side due to the videos have seen on YouTube and the minimum age of drinking in Croatia is 18 so of course you have to be at least 18. The drug abuse that will be at this festival also connotes to the name as because they are at the festival they have a reason to do these drugs without getting into trouble from family, police for example. This festival is trying to attract male and female this is because the audio visual are trying to attract a variety of different people so that more people can enjoy it and they will be able to get more people attending. This will relate to Katz theory as the audience will be able to identify the artists that will be playing at the festival as they will aspire to be someone else, also the people attending the festival will use the place that they are at as a type of escapism as they do not have to worry about anything as they are
  • 16. Similarities and differences between poster and audio visual • There are two different types of advertisements, one being audio visual advertisement the other being print based advertisement. Print based advertisement will be advertisement on a poster or a millboard which will be put up on the side of a road or in high street where it is busy. But audio visual advertisement will be seen as advertising something during a video, but therefore this will be a video of the festival watching a artist perform. Which this will attract a large amount of people because this is what people like at a festival good music and good vibes. • The main differences between print based and audio will be that print based will show a lot more artists that will be performing at the festival, and it will contain a lot more information than the audio visual due to the act that it will just be a video of the festival and what happens there. Also audio visual will be videos of the surrounding area in Croatia as this is a huge attraction of the festival because it is abroad
  • 17. Representation • The stereotypical representation of the typical people who you will find at a festival will be Teenagers from 16-20 and even above, the majority of these will me men but there will still be a fair amount of girls going. The stereotypical attitudes of most of the ravers that attend these types of festivals are wild, loud and reckless which can be reason why fights and conflict occur, but the main reason for the fights and conflicts that occur at these types of festivals is because of the alcohol and illegal substances that are taken, Furthermore another reason for conflict to occur is when there are bands on at a festival the crowds always try to start mosh pits where everyone starts pushing each other this sometimes leads to fights occurring as someone people don’t like being pushed by people they don’t know. This may link to a theorist called ‘Diana Saco’ as men may do this to showoff in front of the women to try get them to stare at them instead, also this is seen as the other way as well; women may wear a minimal amount of clothing to get boys attention which is male gaze ‘Laura Mulvey’
  • 18. Campaign message • Audio visual advertisement is a good way of attracting a specific target audience as they use tactics when they are videoing that they get the best parts of the festival involved with the most colorful lights, which therefore makes people who are watching it on a computer as the publisher make it look as crazy a possible by adding in little edits which may make it look more colorful. Also another good tactic which the publishers will use will be seen as releasing the video of the festival much earlier than when the festival is occurring this is due to the fact that they want to get as many people as possible to view it and get attracted in to buying a ticket. Also below the audio visual advertisement they put the link to the website below the video, so that when someone finish’s watching the advert they will be drawn into clicking on the website where the tickets are getting sold. At the start and the end of the advertisement they will use their logo of the festival with bright colours to attract you to come which this can be seen as brand recognition, which is why they use these colours. Furthermore, another segment that the publishers will add to their audio visual advertisement will be ‘still artists to be announced’ which will get people to be hooked on to their website seeing who the next headliners will be.
  • 19. Print based advertisement used in the campaign • For Hideout festival, there are several different print based advertisements used in the campaigns posters, as this is how they will sell the majority of there tickets to their festival; They do this by putting the main headliners in bold dark writing as this will attract the audience to have a look at the headliners, which then they will see that there are well known good acts and Dj’s and Artists playing and performing at the festival. Also there isn’t just one Specific genre of music going to be at this festival there is a big variety of music so this therefore means that they will have a vast target audience due to the different music. The background of the line up shows a picture of the night life at this festival, but this is behind the line up. I feel like they done this because they are trying to get a point across that the night life there is always on point because they put a picture of the ravers partying on every bit of advertisement, therefore this is them trying to attract people to buy a ticket or it will look like you are missing on the partying side of the festival. Hide out festival have several different ways of Technical convergence to advertise there festival as much as possible. Furthermore this is a very good way of advertisement because before the festival they will get as many people to add the social media link and they will be uploading videos constantly, which will be attracting all the people who didn't go to go to the following year due to how good it looks. Also I found a advertisement of the Hideout festival on BBC 1 xtra with other following festival that are in the UK,

  • 21. Legal and ethical • The independent press standards organizations(ipso) who are an independent regulator who set out rules and regulations that media companies are in competition with. We hold newspapers and magazines to account for their actions, protect individual rights, uphold high standards of journalism and help to maintain freedom of expression for the press. They hold newspapers and magazines to account for their actions, protect individual rights, uphold high standards of journalism and help to maintain freedom of expression for the press. • If ’Hideout’ publishers got reported for ethical and legal issues in their audio advertisements then this could furthermore lead to them getting fined and have to remove the poster due to copyright issues, if this carried on and escalated then ‘Hideout’ could get closed down and will not be able to carry on with their festival as they are using other peoples work for their advertisement.
  • 22. method • Hideout festival 2017 has been advertised in several different places such as facebook, twitter and other social media links. This is important because this is a significant way for the the festival publishers to promote their festival in the best way as possible, and them putting it on large social media accounts will get them there majority of adverts, this is therefore because everyone uses social media on a daily basis so if one person reposts it then the amount of people who see it will be increasing. Also a big advertisement for the ‘Hideout’ festival is that the artists that are performing at the festival will post on their social media accounts saying that they will be performing there so therefore this will also attract a large amount of people to the festival seeing their favorite artists.
  • 23. Method- advertisement Method of my festival will consist of advertising it on social media or even on billboards, posters ect. But I feel like social media is a better way of advertising a festival due to the target audience of the festival will be using social media to get information about the festival so therefore social media advertisement will be the best way of advertisement. To advertise on Facebook or twitter it will cost £3 a day which is cheap considering how many people do use Facebook on a daily basis. I will start by advertising my festival at least 3-4 months before it occurs, due to the fact as this will give it time to get around this will also this will allow people to prepare for the festival . The best way of advertising is by using audio visual advertisement as the audience will be able to see what the festival is about and what occurs there, for example how many stages, where the festival is an how many people attending each year.
  • 24. Method part 2 There are several ways of advertising for a festival but the best way to do it is to release the advertisements a early as possible, this is because Hideout festival is a festival that is abroad so you will have to book flights, accommodation ect, so the earlier you book you the cheaper everything will be, so it is best to advertise it earlier. The hideout festival snap chat ‘HideoutCroatia is a big way of advertising because they will show previous clips of the last years festival. This is importa because this is a significant way for the the festival publishers to promote their festival in the best way as possible, and them putting it on large social media accounts will get them there majority of adverts, this is therefore because everyone uses social media on a daily basis so if one person reposts it then the amount of people who see it will be increasing. • 25. Method part 2 radio advertisement • Also Hideout festival is advertised on the TV and also a variety of social media links such as twitter, facebook, YouTube and on the internet but a big type of advertisement that Hideout festival achieved this year is that BBC Radio 1 mentioned them as one of the best festivals around. This is essential for ‘Hideout’ festival as BBC Radio 1 plays a variety of music that teenagers love, which is why it is one of the most popular radio stations in the United kingdom, so therefore this could be a big reason why ‘Hideout festival’ get most of their customers.
  • 26. Conclusion • To conclude l01 unit 15 I will finish of by stating that all of this information has helped to understand that advertisement is the best way to get your festival known, the two sections of advertisement will be seen as audio visual advertisement and print based advertisement, in my opinion I think that audio visual advertisement is the better one due to the fact that you can watch what has occurred at previous festivals. A type of print based advertisement will be seen as poster with the line up and what DJ’s and artists will be featuring at the festival. Furthermore you need to relate both types of advertisement to the specific target audience for the festival; this is because if you don’t do this then this will mean that none of the target audience will be attracted to the advertisement, which will mean they may feel like the festival is not for them more because the music that is being played there may have changed; this is why it is essential to keep the same genre of music at a festival but extend the genre so that the target audience will be bigger as well, which furthermore means you will get more people attending the festival which means more money will be made.

  • 29. Spending power • My advertisement will be advertised in several different places, such as social media- Facebook, twitter, this is due to the fact that the target audience of my festival will be using Facebook and twitter on a daily basis. Also I will be advertising in magazines, newspapers, posters and maybe billboards this is because magazines and newspapers get read by thousands of people everyday. To do advertisement on social media it is £3 day or £15 a week this is will be good due to the fact that I won’t have to advertise it for too long on social media due to the fact that it is so popular. Hopefully this will all be made up by the amount of people that will see the advertisement and turn up to the festival.
  • 30. Advert advertising rates • Advertising rates for Facebook and twitter = and all social media account should never be more that $5 dollars a day so therefore this will be around £4 a day, so say if I advertise for two weeks this will come to around £56, this is essential because I feel like this will be the best type of advertisement that I can get, other than magazines but I feel like magazines may bring me the wrong target audience. Although I feel like it may bring me the wrong target audience I still am going to advertise something in magazines, just so that I make sure that I get my festival out there. As shown down below the bigger the advertisement the more expensive that it will be. • I will want
  • 31. Mind map poster ideas Mind map ideas Name: Rap City the denotations of this festival will give the ravers that they don’t have to worry about life at home, escape of reality from home. The target audience for the Rap City is in Bournemouth and the minimum age of 18 to around 25 which is due to the fcat that it is not a young aged themed festival , but although 18 is still not that old, but the price range of the festival isn’t expensive. RapCity will yearly due to the fact that I will be a huge event in the same location. The connotation of my colours- yellow, blue and orange will insinuate the fact that this festival is abroad in Croatia rather than be located in England. The colour yellow can convey to the target audience that the weather is going to be hot, due to the yellow being similar to the sun, also the colour yellow will refer to the sand which at the festival there will be beaches with lovely warm sand which is very attractive for people who like hot weather. The colour blue can put pictures in to the audience head of a nice looking sky with a sea which is unusual for a festival to have. Also blue can represent trust, loyalty and heaven so therefore this will symbolize that this festival is one of the best around. The colour orange can represent to the audience that this holiday will be located in hot area which is Croatia, orange connotes that there will be lovely sunshine and heat, also it could relate to happiness and excitement for the festival itself due to the fact that the ravers will have an amazing time.
  • 33. Mood board • I have chosen these pictures for my mood board due to the fact that they convey the scenery of where the festival is, which is the main attraction for all ravers that go to this festival. The beach is also a big attraction because hardly any festivals have beaches, hot weather, boat parties and pool parties? This demonstrates to the audience that this festival is a one and only festival. This juxtaposes festivals like reading and leads because they are not near a sea side so there will be no beach parties and boat parties, and the festival will be Located in a field etc., where ‘RapCity’ is located in Bournemouth with a beach and it should be good weather because my festival is , this illustrates how good this festival really is.

  • 35. Logo Design • My festival is called RapCity this is due to the fact that my festival is a place to escape from reality of life back at home, which is why I created the logo with a music note and wings on the side, this is because I am trying to illustrate to the audience when you come to my festival the music will take you to another place. Also RapCity can also demonstrate that all the best rappers will be in this city at one time, which will be a big attraction for the audience ; because the name will draw the audience to want to know more about the festival and know who will be involved in the line up ect. Also I am going to use several social media links so that the audience can know more information nearer to the time ,which will make the audience looking forward to the festival more!
  • 36. Photo-shoot plan This my photo- shoot plan where I stated the stereotypical people who will be going to the festival and what the typical clothing type is ect.
  • 37. House style • House style is a very essential section of creating your festival poster due to the fact that if you make the font as aesthetically pleasing as possible then you a more likely to attract more people to wanting to read the poster and se what artists are playing ect. The colours that I'm going to use for my poster will be seen as yellow, orange and blue so therefore this will attractive a specific target audience that like festivals aboard due to the fact that the colours are symbolizing the festival itself. Orange can symbolize the hot weather, yellow can symbolize the sand and blue is similar to the sun. So therefore I may do my fonts the same colours so I get a point into the audience’s head that this festival will be aboard in a lovely location in Croatia, in the summer time as well so it is guaranteed nice weather unlike a festival in the United Kingdom where the weather can bad or good. But this festival is guaranteed to be nice weather pretty much every day. I May even implement the colour black due to the colour being bold and it stands out very well when someone is looking at a poster.
  • 38. Main headliners and artists • There will be a variety of different headliners and artist attending the festival this is due to keep the genre as broad as possible, because this will mean that as many people will go as possible because everyone will like the music genres there. There will be house music, grime, rap, drum and bass and American hip hop. So therefore there will be artists like AJ Tracey, Nines, Kano, 67, drum and bass artists and DJ’s such as Andy C, logan D, Traumatic, Sasasa. Also there will be artists coming from America such as Migos, lil durk, Eminem ect. Also there is a dance stage full of DJs for the house section that will be released closer to the time.

  • 41. photos Here are some of my own photo’s which I took of my mate ‘Owen’ these photo's are from radio where he is rapping grime, this is essential because this is the main genre that is going to be at my festival, so

The advertisement in the magazine will cost at least £2,500 and I would want to release my advertisement in a magazine like MTV due to this will be the type of music genre at my festival, so therefore this will be the specific magazine to attract customers to attend my festival. If I was just to advertise my festival through posters which will be a much cheaper version but therefore may not get as many people viewing it than a magazine. A poster would be around £1500 not including EX-VAT which will be around £500. For the equipment and staff that I added, this is just an estimate because I may not need four computers and a different photographer and editor because maybe the photographer can do both of these roles.
  • 43. Launch date • I am going to release my launch date for April the 8th this is due to the fact that this is a month or two before the summer holiday where the festival is going to take place so this will allow me a couple months to advertise the festival and try to attract as many people as possible, my festival is in the summer because the weather should be perfect, everyone should be able to get time of work due to it bring the summer, this furthermore means that if it is in the summer then I may be getting six formers attending the festival due to them finishing there studying which may mean I need to up the genre in the grime and house section ; this is because most 18 year old listen to grime and house on the side so if I do get in some more grime artists then I publish it well then this will mean that I could extend the target audience in the teenager section. My festival date will be the 27th june till the 30th june
  • 44. Legal and ethical constraints Advertising is essential especially when advertising something big like a festival a music event due to the fact that many people will be viewing these so therefore you have to make sure that everyone is correct and there is no misleading information that you may contain on the poster or magazine advert. Therefore following the rules of AsA is significant, also following the rules of advertising codes because this will mean that if add in any information that doesn’t seem right then AsA have the rights to insert a complaint and I will have to remove the poster from getting advertised. It is also significant to have the correct dates of my festival because if I don’t then this will be seen as misleading information which could lead to a sanction or even a fine if it come down to it
  • 46. Planning for a audio visual advertisement • If I was to create a audio visual advertisement I will create short clips of a previous festival, to ensure that the audience will get drawn in to the video by artists that they may be interested in. Therefore I will start of the audio visual advertisement by recording a act on the main stage but only if the crowd Is going mad, this is due to the fact that this will attract a certain target audience and will make them feel jealous because the crowd is looking crazy. Also I will record videos of the surrounding scenery because this will be in Bournemouth so therefore I will record the beach and the hot weather, due to the festival being in the summer so the chances of there being warm weather is high. Also by me doing this I will hopefully attract a large amount of people to come to my festival because of the advertisement.
  • 47. Ethical and legal issues • The independent press standards organizations(ipso) who are an independent regulator who set out rules and regulations that media companies are in competition with. • The ASA is a non-statutory organization and so cannot interpret or enforce legislation. However, its code of advertising practice broadly reflects legislation in many instances. • If ’Hideout’ publishers got reported for ethical and legal issues in their advertisement posters then this could furthermore lead to them getting fined and have to remove the poster due to copyright issues, if this carried on and escalated then ‘Hideout’ could get closed down and will not be able to carry on with their festival as they are using other peoples work for their advertisement. When any publisher creates a poster for advertisement for their festival, they need to take in mind that they don’t have any copyright infringement.
  • 48. Audio visual Advertisement • Audio visual advertisement will be seen as short clips of live bands which this will illustrate people who haven’t been to festivals before what happens when watching a live performance, furthermore this may attract people to buy tickets for the following one. Also if these clips are posted on social media links such as YouTube, Facebook or twitter then they will get viewed by a considerable amount of people due to how popular these social media accounts are, so this is furthermore a big advantage for the festival publishers due to the fact that this will attract a lot of people to buy tickets for the following event. This may only occur if the coverage is good and if the band are well known to the target audience then this may intrigue people. Also another way to attract people to buy tickets to the festival is by adding a link to the official website where tickets can be bought. For example when I go on the festival that I am researching they talk about the acts and then add the link to the website where it insinuates to the audience that the price of the festival isn’t too expensive.
