2.
Different technologies were important
throughout this course as it helped
improve my work and make it look
professional and authentic. All of the
technologies were a struggle to use but it
helped my improve my skills by pushing
me to learn how to use them to the best
of my ability.
3.
This technology was probably the easiest to handle as it
was just voice recording but it was difficult to get over the
nervousness to record it. For example, it felt very pressured
as you had to get it right the whole way through because
there wasn’t a way to go back an edit it. However I like
the idea of voice recording as it seems more personal and
you can put across your opinions more successfully.
Another positive was that it was really easy to figure out
how to embed it as it was all set out really easily. A
problem that I came across while using it was actually
recording to a good quality because a I found out that
my voice wasn’t picked up very well when recording from
my laptop. To fix this I had to search through the app store
on by phone to find an app that let you record and
upload to SoundCloud, but once I found the app the
whole process was very simple.
4.
I really liked SlideShare because you
could use the programs on your
computer first and then with a click of a
button you could upload it and embed it
in the blog. Also this was a really could
technology as you had more freedom
with how you wanted it to look i.e.
design and position of images.
5.
This technology is very much like SlideShare but more
advanced in terms of animation. This is much more visually
appealing to the audience of that presentation. I
struggled with this technology as there isn’t much room to
change the template you chose or if there is I didn’t
understand how to change or add things. The other thing I
struggled with at first was the time frames because I didn’t
see that things were added in gradually so I got confused
at where things had disappeared. To fix this problem I
asked someone in the 2nd year to try and explain things to
me i.e. adding text and images once she went through
that with me I felt much more confident. I was really
happy with the outcome of it as it was more exciting than
a PowerPoint but not very difficult to make.
6.
I found prezi to be a very effective way
to present ideas as you could add things
in that portrayed it better, i.e. embed
YouTube videos and add voice overs.
Sometimes when using Prezi I found it
confusing of how to set it out and place
it in the correct place of the chain. I liked
how it could be so versatile i.e. a
persentation full of information or images
it worked for anything that you needed.
7.
This technology was what kept everything
together for the whole course, all your work
was in one place making it easier to reflect
in a diary post. We used this technology as
a place to store all our research, planning
and construction for the examiners and
teachers to see. I really liked this technology
as it helped me feel much more organised
and it helped me be able to present my
work in an interesting way.
8.
This technology was really helpful in the
research part of this course as I could
successfully find out information about
the target audience by putting links to
the survey on social media so lots of
people could see it. Also this showed me
that my target audience spent time on
social media so it would be important to
use them as a communication point for
the magazine.
9.
This technology was very tricky for me
and it was quite restrictive in the amount
you could do i.e. 10 lines of speech for
the whole thing. Meaning if you really
wanted to go into detail you would
need another technology or have to
make several GoAnimate’s. However it
was quite fun to use as the end result
was quite funny due to the use of robotic
voices.
10.
At first I really didn’t like this technology
because its really complicated and requires a
lot of patience. I used this technology to
construct my magazine so I had no choice but
to learn how to deal with it. I did this by seeking
advice and exploring the different vector tools,
i.e. drop shadow and adding curves. I think this
technology is really clever and useful at
making a professional product and if I were to
use it more I think I would always go to this
technology when creating something. If I were
to do this again I would definetly look at tutorial
videos to give me a head start at what I want
to achieve.
11.
In conclusion I have enjoyed extending
my use of different technologies as it has
given me a chance to see my work in a
different format and deciding what
works best.
