3. Blogger was definitely one of the most important and
useful technologies used as it was ultimately how we
presented our media journey. As our older work was
dated and easily accessible we could refer back to them
in any new posts. In addition, sharing group posts was
very simple and easy to do as we were able to attach our
partners blogs to our own blogs. Due to Blogger being
accessible online I was able to produce a quick blog post
if I didn’t have any paper around. The main problem had
with Blogger was when I tried to move an image around
a page. Frequently images wouldn’t move into the place I
put them. This annoyance happened throughout my
course. The main post this problem occurred on was
when I researched (Bruno mars “Grenade”)

4. Emaze
I only used this technology a few times as I felt it was
almost the exact same as other products like PowerPoint
and Powtoon. Emaze allowed me to analyse information
with multiple images and look closely into specific
aspects of products like cross media convergence, brand
identity and synergy. I really like how creative you can be
with this technology. There was so many modern
backgrounds, shapes and colours you could use in order
to make your product unique. As almost every time I
would use Emaze I used the presentation format, it felt a
lot like better PowerPoint. I used this technology when
researching Taylor Swifts “Love Story”. Emaze gave me
freedom and didn’t restrict me when moving and
organising the slides. It provided me with a modern
background which I chose from out of thousands. This
really reduced the time it could have taken for this
presentation. As I didn’t have to find a background online
and fit it to each page exactly.
5. This technology was used a significant amount
throughout the course. It is a really simple, clear way to
present information. As I have used this software many
times before I found it really easy to use. I used
Slideshare in order to present my PowerPoint on my
blog. However, the only issue I had when using this
software was that if I found something incorrect on the
uploaded PowerPoint on my blog, I would have to then
have to edit the PowerPoint and re-upload it to
slideshare and post it again.
SlideShare and PowerPoint
6. I did enjoy using Prezi’s designs as I felt they were very
modern and aesthetically pleasing. However, I only used
Prezi once as I felt it was quite complicated and
challenging when organising the way slides were shown.
As well as this, I struggled a lot with fitting the text into
the boxes. Text would either have to be very small or
spread out between multiple boxes. I know that I would
have done a lot more Prezi’s if I didn’t find them so
complicated and hard to work with. In this Prezi that I did
It looks like there is barely any writing. This is because I
had to reduce the size of the text in order for it to fit into
the circle.
Prezi
7. I used scanning quite often when analysing existing
products as it was very quick and easy to do. I was able
to drawer an arrow pointing at a certain area I was
writing about. I had the freedom of writing where I
wanted when scanning as there were no restrictions. I
feel this was a very efficient way to analyse information
and existing products. However, as I didn’t have a
scanner at home I couldn’t use this technology outside of
college. In addition, when it came to scanning onto my
pc a few errors came up quite often and caused them
not to load properly, meaning Id then have to go back
and try and scan it again. As well as this if your writing
was in pencil or a lighter pen when scanned it wouldn’t
be seen.
Scanning
8. Thinglink was a great fun way to annotate images. It was
so simple and easy to use. I used this technology when
analysing existing ancillaries. As I went through my
course I found it started to become more and more
helpful as you could analyse an image and put your
information directly onto the area you’ve been speaking
about. Allowing me to present my research and ideas
clearly. I used Thinglink to analyse Rhianna's advert for
her new album “LOUD”. I found that using this
technology worked really well when analysing as I placed
markers directly on top of what I was interested in.
Thinglink
9. I used Chirbit for our Target Audience research. Chirbit
allowed us to upload our Focus Group voice recording
online. We used an iPhone when recording and uploaded
it. By using this technology it gave us a platform on which
we could look back on the recording and improve our
music video. Using Chirbit was quite difficult at first as id
never used the technology before. However, once I got
the hang of it, it became easier to understand. Although,
If I was to do this again I would of used another voice
uploading technology like SoundCloud.
Chirbit
10. Word was a very effective technology regarding both the
research and planning side of my course. It allowed me
to produce questionnaires and risk assessments and was
the easiest form of printing them. I use this technology in
my other A levels and have noticed its usually very
successful. As a result of this I am able to work my way
through this technology very quick and efficiently.
Microsoft Word
11. YouTube was defiantly one of the most vital pieced of
technology when researching music videos. It was used
in numerous occasions and blog posts. I used YouTube to
watch the music videos. An example of this is in my
Research post on Bruno Mars “Grenade”. As you could
link the videos to your blog I embedded the official video
in order to fully understand the screen grabs I had
collected for the post. I use YouTube a lot and felt very
confident when using it throughout my media course.
YouTube
13. I used Blogger throughout the planning stage of my
course. I used Blogger to upload smaller posts. I feel that
using Blogger for smaller posts was defiantly the best
method as it is time efficient. I decided to use a word
document instead when producing larger posts as they
were easier to set out on word. I used Blogger
throughout the entirety of my A2 course as it would
show my journey confidently.

14. In the planning stage I feel scanning was one of the most
used technologies. I would scan work in that we had
previously written on. Scanning was used as a way in
which I could transfer my work across to the blog
without typing it up on a keyboard. This really influenced
my time efficiency.
Scanning
15. Word was used significantly throughout the planning
stage of my A2 media course. I used this in the risk
assessments, script breakdowns and so much more. I
ultimately used word as it was an easy way to create
tables and organise information clearly, in addition to
being able to print a physical copy from this software.
Word Documents
16. As the entirety of this course was presented online I used
the media computers and college laptops very often
throughout the research, planning, construction and
evaluation stages. I also have a desktop computer at
home, this allowed me to do my work at home where I
was then able to upload my work online.
