1. Question 6
What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
2. Technology
During the time I have had to do my opening sequence I have had to use
many diverse types of technology to display my work. I had to learn how
to use these technologies as I was not use to them.
Serif Movie Plus:
To edit my opening title sequence I
used my school editing software serif
movie plus. I found this software quite
easy to use as I have already used it for
my GCSE ICT course. Through the
process I have leant how to cross fade
shots and make the editing fast paced
as a thriller film has very fast paced
editing to shock the audience. I also
leant how to add text on screen, which
was quite annoying as I had to change
the text, quite a lot to find the right
text.
Blogger:
This was basically the first piece of
technology that I used. I had to create a
blog to show my work to the examiner.
This was a piece of technology that I had
never used before and I found it hard to
get used to it at first, as it was new to me,
however as time went by I found it easier
to post new things. As I progressed I was
able to incorporate newer technology in
my blog. An example of this would be
Prezi's and YouTube clips.
Prezi/ Slide Share:
The other technologies that incorporated into
my blog were Prezi and slide share. These two
pieces of technology allowed me to create edit
and upload presentations, however Prezi was
more of an interactive and updated look on
presentations. As I had never used any of these
technologies before, it meant that I had to create
accounts for both websites; which was a bit
tedious. Thing that was great about Slide Share
was that it enabled you to upload PowerPoints
form word. This meant once uploaded I could
instantly embed the file into my blog. The thing
that was great about Prezi was that it was
innovative and it allowed more interaction with
the presentation. It also shows a different use of
technology.
Camera:
As I looked over my preliminary I found that
the camera that I used had quite good
quality, however at sometimes the handheld
device did shake. If other camera were
available then I would have been likely to
change the camera as I know there are
better quality camera’s available. As I used
the flip camera more I found it easier to
master as it only had a few buttons which
made it easier to control and use. Even
tough before my media task I had never
used a flip camera before I found that the
device was easy to control and had great
movability.
YouTube:
This was the easiest piece of
technology that I used as I am
frequently use it and I know a
lot about it. I used this to
upload videos, which was
something that I had never
done before, I also learnt how
to embed the video files into
my blog.
