In Just a Few Words...
What has self-care been
looking like for you these days?
● Eating healthy and getting enough sleep.
● Making my needs a priority. Yoga
● going to bed on time! making it a priority
● I love music, sleep, snuggling with my cat, and napping.
● Yoga and spending time with my close friends :)
● Taking time to myself to allow myself to have feelings and just focusing on me... getting sleep and
drinking water
● Watching tik tok videos and eating cake
● exercising and journaling!
● Recently, self care for me has been taking walks on campus and listening to music. If the weather is
bad I try to focus on making my chores fun
● somewhat maintain a sleep schedule and listening to music
● Journaling, complimenting myself, taking a shower, or meditation and eating
● letting some chores go and giving myself space and time for my leg injury to heal
● Taking a couple hurs of the day for myself to listen to music and podcasts, going for walks, naps,

How have you experienced the concept of "mental health" within
your own cultural communities?

● Growing up it's been women and girls are crazy and over emotional and unstable
and must have boys and men to "straighten them out"

● My family is very open with getting/needing help

How did you feel?
● Resonates
● Dark and scary
● Relatable ....
● Talked about the daily life of dealing/struggling with depression.
● It was hard to watch but I thought the film was very powerful. "Live as if you'll die today"
that line resonated with me
● My favorite part was when they both had racing thoughts while in tbe bathroom and it’s a
very accurate experience. You have so many thoughts just going in and out at once.
● For me.. it was the actions that spoke louder than words.. and the constant thoughts in
your mind
● Felt heavy and exhausting just to get out of bed
● understand the feeling of not wanting ro get out of bed. Feeling like you have to put on a
mask everyday
● I think the bathroom, it’s the most intimate part with yourself when you take a shower or
have to look at yourself in the mirror
● The simplicity of it.. the scene of the ceiling fan is oddly relatable
● The courage to walk out the door to start another day
● She was naked and exposed

help support
your wellness?
● Therapy
● Journaling
● The bathroom scene was hard to watch, my mental health was really bad in April
and I stopped taking care of myself completely.
● Running
● Sitting in the sun, going to the gym, journaling, watching sermons, reading
● allowing yourself to have emotions without judgement.. attempting to replace
negative thoughts with positive
● Listening to music
● Mindful meditation
● Coffee by myself in the morning before the kids get up!
● Sleep
● Blocking hurtful people
● Yoga
● Abstinence from drinking or toxic relationships
● Watching uplifting videos.
