amongst the company as they have managed to win the AOP Consumer Digital Publisher

3. Who would own your magazine?
For my magazine, I would choose Future PLC as my magazine institution as they seem to have broad
network of well established, industry-leading brands that stretch from a variety of media fields in
technology, to sports & auto. What grabs me the most is that they seem to have the knowledge and
skills in each field they produce. Despite Future PLC being more of a niche magazine institution
compared with the likes of IPC Media and Bauer, they seem to have produced magazines, such as
'PlayStation Magazine' and 'Classic Rock', that attract a vast collection of audiences across the globe.
Not only do Future produce magazines, but they host a variety of conventions. They have their own
event for the entertainment industry, 'GamesMaster Golden Joystick Awards' which is the world's
biggest and best video games awards voted for by the general public, as well as their own websites,
such as 'Games Radar', which is the planet's third biggest games information website. More than 14
million global users visit Future's games websites monthly, and the figure is growing. This however is
just the entertainment field. Future is the biggest guitar and music-making publisher in the UK.
MusicRadar.com, their flagship music-making website, attracts over twelve million page views a
month. Metal Hammer also runs the hugely successful Golden Gods Awards in the UK while the
Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards goes from strength to strength. And, in social media, Metal
Hammer now has over 380,000 Facebook fans.
So, in conclusion, I think Future have earned themselves a well-deserved collection of media awards
and general approval from the general public. Each group has a well respected team of experts that
seem to work hard in order to gain the maximum amount of consumer satisfaction possible, to
attract an audience on an international level, which they seem to have done comfortably. So my
decision to choose Future has been based purely on the idea of being positioned in the best hands
possible, to maintain confidence in a magazine that will stand proud amongst other mainstream
magazine brands like NME and Kerrang!
