2. Indie Folk
Features the typical instruments of an Indie folk piece of music within the video
such as guitars. Has a dark tone to the story at the start and as it goes on gets
better, however it’s a lot more a dark story than a happy ending like most
videos.
3. Camera
The video has lots of moving camera shots, near the end at the chase scene the
camera almost turns into a POV shot.
At the start the shots are still and this is also when the tone of the music video is
calm and not as much action is going on.
When the camera isn’t stable it seems to be handheld giving a rugged effect,
then as it makes it through the hall it pans and widens the shot to give us a look
at the singer.
4. Editing
The video features a lot of quick changes to keep up with the fast tempo on the
chase scene and when the lyrics and music speed up the images change quick
and also reflect what the singer is saying.
5. Mise en scene
The scenery used is very rural and there is a lot of nature and pastel type of
colours are used, they use colours in their video that match the whole feel of the
video and the mood.
The dark and light scenes are used as a way of the singer getting their emotions
across, when it gets darker the singer seems to be angry and at the start it’s a lot
lighter portraying the singer in a happier mood.
