7. This video doesn’t have a narrative however it has approximately 3 different
locations, it is hard to find a discernible order to follow. And the only
performance is the singer lip syncing.
The three different locations are: outside location, a living room location and a
staircase location.
The singer and other people that included in the music video all wear casual
clothes but the colour of their clothes is really bright and obvious, which makes
them really stand out.

8. And the background of the music video is different wallpaper, which is a unique
element.
Not many wide shots are used in this music video, instead a lot of mid shots and
some close up shots. Also some scenes have an after effect which makes the
scenes look retro. A lot of hand held shots are also used. The video uses soft
and warm light to make the video look relax and ease which works really well
with the laid back music.

10. This music video includes a lot of lip syncing and band performance. However
there isn’t a narrative which the audiences can follow. The use of really bright
colour like blue and yellow and stylistic background in this music video really
stands out.

11. The band performance is shot in a studio with green floor and blue background
and the other scenes are shot in the outside. The singer and performers in the
video are all wearing casual clothes.
The use of each camera angles and shot is quite even in this video, as wide
shots and mid shots and close ups are all used in this video. And the camera
quickly pans away when changing scenes or locations. The camera always
follows him in front of him, which makes the audiences feel the singer is singer
to them and walking toward them.

13. Lip syncing is used in this video, and in some of the scenes the singer is playing
a guitar but not properly. In terms of narrative, it is not clear, but a female and
male is included in the video and they are really close, so it gives the audiences
the space of imagination.
A lot of close ups are used in order to describe the male and female characters.
Also a tracing shot is used while the singer is skateboarding. And again, the
singer is wearing very casual clothes. Editing is normal, short duration is not long
as the song is not a quick song.
After watching the music videos, I think his star image is:

14. Triathalon
A musical band that creates indie/ surf rock music.
The band has five members who are Chad, Adam,
Hunter, Lamont & Kristina. They have produced
several albums since 2014 and have few music videos.

16. The music video contains a band performance in an outdoor court where members of the band
change between the shots. In the background there is people practicing skateboarding which creates a
sense of a very relaxed atmosphere. There is also a lip sync of the singer lying down on the court with
a microphone and him standing holding a speaker. There is no narrative, the shots just switch
between each other and different locations with the band members positioned differently. There are
no dance elements.
There are also some filler scenes of different objects and corners of the court as well as panning/
tracking shots of shadows, sky, water fountain, cables and the band. We see many close ups on the
instruments
Halfway through the video, 8 beat, the scenery changes from the court to a train station and then a
train. Then we can also see the band on a rooftop.

18. The video has a performance and a lip sync. The band members are all in separate shots and in
different locations. Some are inside the house, some are outside.
There are tracking, handheld, panning, zooming in shots.
There is also filler scenes such as grass, houses, bike, trees, pouring soda into a glass, washing grapes,
eating grapes, road signs. We see the band members doing everyday things such as watching TV,
cycling, eating, walking a dog,
The video is generally vintage looking shown through the simplicity of outfits and the look of the
artists.
The editing is very simple and mostly straight cut.

20. The video starts off by looking out of an airplane window, we then see a hotel and then the beach.
Most of the video takes place at the beach with band members on sunbeds, in the sea and just walking
around the beach.
There is no performance, a little bit of lip sync that is very casual and we mostly see the band
members hanging around and dancing to the beat.
Overall, the video was filmed in a way to look unprofessional and as if it was filmed a small camera
and the editing also adds a vintage feel to it. They have used straight cuts to make it look simpler and
added on a colour filter to give it the “vintagy” look. The camera is handheld all the way through and
that’s what makes it look very much like an unprofessional music video just filmed by a bunch of
friends.

23. In this video, a performance is included which is a band performance, and it
continues throughout the whole video. Also the singer is lip syncing. The band is
playing in front of a plain coloured background. There isn’t necessarily a
narrative in this music video because we can see a group of people having fun
but there isn’t much narrative. And there is no dance included in this video. Some
of the scenes have an after effect on them to make them look retro.
There are 3 locations in this video, one is the corner of a living room, one is the
studio and the other one is the garden( a location outside). In the living room and
the studio colours are used widely in terms of background and decorations. Also
the light is warm and soft to make the video look cozy, warm and relax. And the
band members wear really casual clothes, and the singer wears red which
matches up with the background. There isn’t any wide shots, mainly mid shots
or close ups, especially the face of the singer and the instruments and also the
musicians.

24. Split screen editing is used very often in this music video, so the audiences are
able to see the hand of the guitar player and the singer lip syncing at the same
time, which I think is very stylistic and cool. The video doesn't have a order we
can follow as it doesn’t have any narrative.

27. This video doesn’t include any performance or lip sync as the band members are
not included in this music video.
The lighting of this music video is still warm and soft which makes the scenes
look old and retro also look very chill and relax which works really well with their
music. In terms of props, other than decorations, a pocket watch run through the
whole video, and for sure there is a narrative in this music video, however the
narrative is really vague, we can tell the narrative from changing scenes.
Some of the scenes are shot outside in an actual neighbourhood and other
scenes are shot in the studio. Split screen editing is also used in this music
video. And this video has a discernible order that we can follow.

29. This video has very few scenes of the singer playing guitar and lip syncing, I think
there is a narrative in this music video as there is a discernible order that we can
follow, however the narrative is not really clear. There isn’t a particular editing in
thins video, unlike the previous ones. But the use of camera makes the audience
feel realistic, they can have the feeling of being part of the music video.

More empathy

30. Although the lighting in this video is a little bit dark and dim, however it is still
soft and warm, and the use of colours like red which really stands out makes the
music video look kind of psychedelic, will make the audiences feel relax and
calm. The majority of the music video takes place in a pub or a restaurant, and
the singer is wearing casual clothes and the girl is wearing a dress.
