WHAT THE PEOPLE WORSHIPPED
THE PROPHET: Nuh
* One of the earliest prophets
* Had 4 sons: Shem, Ham, Yam, Japheth
* A Surah in the Quran was named after him, but he is mentioned in
many Suwar
THE PROPHET’S PEOPLE AND
THEIR LOCATION
 The People of Nuh (Naynawah)
 Mesopotamia , btwn Tigris and Euphrates
River
(Modern day Iraq, Kuwait, Syria, Turkey)
THE MESSAGE AND THE PEOPLE’S
RESPONSE
 He preached over 950 years:
 He said : I have called my people Night and day
 His calling only caused the people to run away from him
 They placed their fingersin their ears and covered their
faces with their clothing and were arrogant towards him.
 Nuh didn’t ask for any personal benefit. His goal was for
them to recognize them Allah’s blessings around them
and to ask His forgiveness
THE FATE OF THE PEOPLE
They mocked NUH (AS) when he built an
Ark by Allah’s command. The small number
of believers embarked on the ark, taking
with them all the animal species. The
disbelievers refused to board and drowned
as a result of their arrogance. Even Nuh’s
wife and son were among those who
perished.
WHAT THE PEOPLE WORSHIPPED
 Idol worshippers: worshipped Wad,
Suwa2, Yaghuth, Yaooq, Nasr
(first to invent this concept)

WHAT THE PEOPLE WORSHIPPED
THE PROPHET: Hud (came 5 generations after Nuh, from the lineage of Sam)
* A Surah in the Quran was named after him
* Sent to the strongest nation ever created
THE PROPHET’S PEOPLE AND
THEIR LOCATION
 The People of ‘Ad
 Original Arab tribes, known for building
great towers
 Physically strong, wealthy, and arrogant
 Lived in IRAM, Between Yemen and Oman
THE MESSAGE AND THE PEOPLE’S
RESPONSE
 Worship Allah alone- what is the benefit of these stones you carve with
your own hands?
 Don’t be arrogant and oppressive
 HE’s a man just like us, he’s not a Prophet
 They mocked his teachings: “He says that when we die and become
dust and bones that we will be brought to life?”
 This man is possessed by Jinn. Don’t listen to him.
 Punishment can’t come to us. We are too powerful. Who’s more
powerful than us?! Allah tells them Don’t they know the One who
created them is stronger than them?
(we know allah can kill us with a simple mosquito bite)
• They responded with a challenge: Ok, bring the punishment
THE FATE OF THE PEOPLE
They were punished with a drought. They
would pray to their idols for rain.
Hud told them to just ask forgiveness and
return to Allah. They refused.
Then they saw dark clouds advancing,
and happily expected rain.
Hud told them the clouds were carrying
a punishment from Allah. They were hit
by a strong wind storm that lasted 8 days
and 7 night and destroyedeverything.
WHAT THE PEOPLE WORSHIPPED
 Idol worshippers
 Their rulers were unjust but nobody
spoke up against them.

ONLY PROPHET TO SPEAK TO ALLAH DIRECTLY
THE PROPHET’S PEOPLE AND

THE MESSAGE AND THE PEOPLE’S
RESPONSE
Musa (AS) and his brother Harun (AS) were
sent as Prophets to Fir’on to ask him to
free Bani Israel, and to claim the oneness
of Allah. Surat Shuaraa’:
Fir’on challenged Musa to a competition of
magicians. The “illusions” that the
magicians preformedcould not stand up to
the Miracles of Musa (AS).
Even the magicians bowed down to Allah
after they witnessed these miracles:
They were experts in magic and new that
what they saw was NOT magic.
THE FATE OF THE PEOPLE
 When Musa (AS) fled with the people
of Bani Israel, they thought they met
their death when they found
themselves between the Red Sea and
Fir’on’s army.
Musa(AS) hit the sea with his staff and
the sea split in half allowing Bani
Israel to make it safely to the other
side.
 Fir’on and his soldiers went in after
them but the sea came crashing down
on them, and they drowned. Fir’on’s
body is still preservedtoday as a sign
of Allah’s wrath.
WHAT THE PEOPLE WORSHIPPED
Fir’on claimed to be the one true God
of Bani Israel. He enslaved them and
forcedthem to worship him.
SuratNaziaat:
Bani Israel also reveredthe cow and
at one point worshipped a golden calf.

They killed the miracle of Allah.
WHAT THE PEOPLE WORSHIPPED
P. Saleh told them that a punishment would come to
them in three day.
Three days after this warning, thunderbolts filled the
air, followed by severe earthquakes
The entire tribe was destroyed.
There was one terrific cry which had hardly ended
when the disbelievers of Salih’s people were struck
dead, one and all, at the same time. Their strong
buildings could not protect them.
Worshipped Allah but idols as
well

  • 3. THE PROPHET: Nuh * One of the earliest prophets * Had 4 sons: Shem, Ham, Yam, Japheth * A Surah in the Quran was named after him, but he is mentioned in many Suwar THE PROPHET’S PEOPLE AND THEIR LOCATION  The People of Nuh (Naynawah)  Mesopotamia , btwn Tigris and Euphrates River (Modern day Iraq, Kuwait, Syria, Turkey) THE MESSAGE AND THE PEOPLE’S RESPONSE  He preached over 950 years:  He said : I have called my people Night and day  His calling only caused the people to run away from him  They placed their fingersin their ears and covered their faces with their clothing and were arrogant towards him.  Nuh didn’t ask for any personal benefit. His goal was for them to recognize them Allah’s blessings around them and to ask His forgiveness THE FATE OF THE PEOPLE They mocked NUH (AS) when he built an Ark by Allah’s command. The small number of believers embarked on the ark, taking with them all the animal species. The disbelievers refused to board and drowned as a result of their arrogance. Even Nuh’s wife and son were among those who perished. WHAT THE PEOPLE WORSHIPPED  Idol worshippers: worshipped Wad, Suwa2, Yaghuth, Yaooq, Nasr (first to invent this concept)

Don’t listen to him.  Punishment can’t come to us. We are too powerful. Who’s more powerful than us?! Allah tells them Don’t they know the One who created them is stronger than them? (we know allah can kill us with a simple mosquito bite) • They responded with a challenge: Ok, bring the punishment • ‫ا‬َ‫م‬ِ‫ب‬ ‫َا‬‫ن‬ِ‫ت‬ْ‫أ‬َ‫ف‬﴿‫َآ‬‫ن‬ُ‫د‬ِ‫ع‬َ‫ت‬ِ‫م‬ َ‫نت‬ُ‫ك‬ ‫ن‬ِ‫إ‬﴾َ‫ين‬ِ‫ق‬ِ‫د‬‫ـ‬َّ‫ص‬‫ال‬ َ‫ن‬ THE FATE OF THE PEOPLE They were punished with a drought. They would pray to their idols for rain. Hud told them to just ask forgiveness and return to Allah. They refused. Then they saw dark clouds advancing, and happily expected rain. • 7. THE PROPHET: MUSA, SON OF IMRAN MENTIONED IN THE QURAN 143 TIMES ONLY PROPHET TO SPEAK TO ALLAH DIRECTLY THE PROPHET’S PEOPLE AND THEIR LOCATION *People: Bani Israel * Location: Egypt/Palestine * Book: Torah THE MESSAGE AND THE PEOPLE’S RESPONSE Musa (AS) and his brother Harun (AS) were sent as Prophets to Fir’on to ask him to free Bani Israel, and to claim the oneness of Allah. Surat Shuaraa’: Fir’on challenged Musa to a competition of magicians. The “illusions” that the magicians preformedcould not stand up to the Miracles of Musa (AS). Even the magicians bowed down to Allah after they witnessed these miracles: They were experts in magic and new that what they saw was NOT magic. THE FATE OF THE PEOPLE  When Musa (AS) fled with the people of Bani Israel, they thought they met their death when they found themselves between the Red Sea and Fir’on’s army. Musa(AS) hit the sea with his staff and the sea split in half allowing Bani Israel to make it safely to the other side.  Fir’on and his soldiers went in after them but the sea came crashing down on them, and they drowned.
