6. Disadvantages of Global Warming
• Ocean circulation disrupted, disrupting and
having unknown effects on world climate.
• Higher sea level leading to flooding of low-
lying lands and deaths and disease from flood
and evacuation.
• Deserts get drier leaving to increased
desertification.
7. Advantages of Global Warming
• Advantages of Global Warming
• Arctic, Antarctic, Siberia, and other frozen
regions of earth may experience more plant
growth and milder climates.
• The next ice age may be prevented from
occurring.
• Northwest Passage through Canada's
formerly-icy north opens up to sea
transportation.
Editor's Notes
The greenhouse effect occurs when certain gases in the atmosphere entrap infrared radiation. This effect makes the planet warmer, in the same way a greenhouse keeps its inside temperature warmer.
The greenhouse effect is caused by greenhouse gases; the most important greenhouse gases in Earth's atmosphere are: water vapor, carbon dioxide, and methane. When there is more greenhouse gas in the air, the air holds more heat.
The rise of co2 levels is fluctuating up until the 1900-2000 where it rises rapidly. It is a very similar story to the temperature and it is steady until 1900-2000
This picture is an artists impression on what new york will look like in 2114. The picture to the right sshows how much sea levels have rised in the last century.
This diagram shows the percentages of greenhouse gases in the earths atmosphere.
