An additional 220-240 million people may be at risk from malaria particularly in China and central Asia. Tropical diseases in Africa likely to spread to North of continent The diseases will slow down countries’ economies and could spread and cause real damage to the end of the world Energy consumption may go down as temperatures increase in densely populated parts of the world such as north-west Europe Higher sea levels may flood low-lying areas such as Bangladesh and the Netherlands, threatening the lives of millions Frozen regions of the world such as Siberia and northern Canada may be able to grow crops in a milder climate These regions will be able to trade more and be more self-reliant. Loss of glaciers (fresh water) in the Himalayas may threaten agriculture and water supply in India, Nepal and China. Canada’s North-West Passage may become ice-free and can be used by shipping Some species, whose habitat changes, may become extinct – there is considerable concern about polar bears in the Arctic Some species becoming extinct can endanger other as I disrupts the food chain which can link in to human agriculture.

- Constantly, the earth is warmed by the sun through short wave (insolation) radiation. During the night the earth loses heat due to outgoing infrared radiation. Over a long period of time due to the balance between ingoing and outgoing radiation the earth’s temperature remains constant.
- From the graph we can see that sea levels have been rising for a long time at a steady increase since 1970 .at around 1900 there was heavy industrialisation throughout the world which would suggest that human presence and activities could cause sea levels to rise.
- We know the global sea level is rising because of the greenhouse gases trapping the earth’s heat and increasing he temperature and in some cases melting arctic ice and glaciers which makes the sea level rise. Another problem with the earth’s temperature rising is that when the sea is warmer it expands (thermal expansion)
