2. The image used on my front cover is a ‘typical’ picture for the
genre that I chose. I believe this will grab their attention. The
clothing used is fashionable and familiar within the target
audience. I also think that the coloured background will appeal to
the target audience as well because they will be younger and
attracted to these colours.
The age of the two people in this image will also attract my
audience because they are younger just like my audience. The
audience will be able to relate to them easier.
The two are holding guitars as well which tells the reader and
audience straight away that this is a pop genre magazine. For
this particular image I have used a long shot so that you can see
the clothing and all of the background.
I have the two smiling so that it seems as if they are having a
good time. This will appeal because the younger audience will
want to see the people on the magazine happy just like them.
3. The image used in my double page spread also represents the
genre that I chose. This is more for the male audience and this will
appeal to them because the person in the image is doing
something that the target audience will also like to do.
You cant really see much clothing in this but the clothing you can
see is just a plain, red, zipped hoodie which will appeal to most
people. I wanted the image to be simple and nothing to
extravagant.
I used an apple mac computer in this because it looks modern
and is better than the standard computers we have around the
school. All of the equipment is high tech and the surroundings
are plain so you can concentrate on the image.
All the images used will appeal to my target audience because I
know that they can relate to these images and that’s what I
aimed for, to reach out to my audience and grab their attention
using the images.
4. The image used in my contents page is of two of the main artists that I
mention throughout the magazine. I done this because this is what they
have done in the magazines such as Q. I used this because I think that
the boy on your right looks like a ‘typical boyband member’ and the boy
on your left has headphones and looks similar to the image in my double
page spread.
I used this location because their surrounded by white which is a plain
colour and I believe that it makes the two boys stand out. And that’s
what I wanted to happen because it makes the boys look more
appealing. They are not really posing or doing anything outrageous, they
just look casual and that makes the image look conventional for my
magazine.
My target audience would look at these two and they would be able to
relate to themselves, especially if they are music fans. Just chilling out
together and listening to some music which is what I like best about this
image!
All my images are of people that are similar ages and they all wear
similar ages and I made sure that was the case throughout the
magazine.
