Acridine is a photobase which has a ground state pKa of 5.1, similar to that of pyridine. It also shares properties with quinoline. ESR at 2 & 7 position proflavin (or diaminoacridine), is an acriflavine derivative, a disinfectant bacteriostatic 9-Aminoacridine is a highly fluorescent dye used clinically as a topical antiseptic and experimentally as a mutagen, Method of preparation Reaction
