2. Age
The target audience for our opening title sequence is 15 – 35 year olds. This is
due to the fact that our film uses three teenage characters, and uses locations
and the base narrative of something which the audience can relate to, being
teenagers to young adults. The narrative of friends cycling together is
something which the audience can relate to.
3. Gender
We are not deliberately targeting a particular gender, but since we have all
male characters, the more likely gender to watch this is males. This is because
males tend to prefer horror films more than females, due to the
scare/creepiness factor of the backwards horror sub genre. This is also due to
the vast number of jump scares intended for the audience, which males tend
to prefer.
4. Location
The location which we filmed/distributed the opening title sequence in is
London. This is because we have are using warner bros to distribute our film,
since it is a large distribution company, and London is the main location for
large film screenings, therefore in the general area of London.
5. Ethnicity
We are not targeting a particular ethnicity, as the opening title sequence is
open to all ethnicities, and not particularly targeting any particular
ethnicity. This is because we haven’t represented any ethnicity in the opening
title sequence, in any standout way, in comparison to other mainstream
opening title sequence.
6. Social class
The social class which we would be targeting is middle/lower classed
audiences. This is because we don’t have any typical conventions of things
which would appeal to higher class audiences, therefore since we had a lower
budget for our OTS, in comparison to other mainstream films which use a
wider range of mise en scene. We had limited resources which would stop us
from appealing to upper class viewers.
