• When the signal reaches a cell tower or router, it is
transmitted via a wired connection to YouTube’s servers.
• YouTube’s servers receive the packets, reassemble them into

6. 4. Playing the video
• When someone clicks to play your video, a request is sent
over the internet to YouTubes’s servers.
• YouTube selects the best video format for the browser
being used to view it and chops it to back into packets.
• The packets are sent via wired and wireless connection to
the viewer’s computer.
• One of the largest internet provider in our country put up
Google cache server in Nepal Telecom’s Jawalakhel office
which made YouTube faster in Nepal.

• The packets are delivered in order to form the original video
at the optimum quality.
• If the internet connection is slow, the video may buffer when
waiting for the next packet to be delivered.
• YouTube is the 3rd most visited website in the world.
