For their FMP, the student will produce a song, music video, album cover, and promotional poster about diversity in youth culture and toxicity between groups. The song will be available on streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. The music video will be on YouTube. The album cover and poster will advertise the song. The target audience is 12-21 year olds who will relate to the message. Throughout the products, a consistent color scheme inspired by urban graffiti will be used to portray the atmosphere and ideas of youth culture.
2. Reflection
• What are you making?
For my FMP I will be producing a song, music video, album cover and
promotional poster.
• Why?
The idea of my song is about diversity in youth culture and the toxicity between
us.
• Who is it for?
My target audience is young people specifically around 12-21 as they will be
able to relate the most.
• Where will it appear/on what? (How will audience see it)
The song will be available on spotify/apple music, The music video will be
available on youtube, the album cover will appear on the poster and on as a
thumbnail for the song on spotify/apple music. The poster could appear on
college walls as advertisement or as ads on applications on moblie
3. Style sheet
Throughout all my products it is important that I keep a colour scheme consistently because it works as part of my general brand
which can be noticed and recognised on different promotional platforms. The colour scheme all together is quite random however
are best portray the atmosphere of my music video, song and what I want to make for my cover and poster. They are also
colouring which are used in urban graffiti which is a consistent thing which will appear in all my products because it gives off the
idea of youth culture. I think it's going to be important to involve the colour black in my products because it will highlight out
some of the other brighter colours which I want to include in my products. I also want to use the connotation of darkness to
reflect my idea I want to portray of toxicity between young people. Including the colour white is just as important as black to show
the contrast. It stands out Infront of black and shows contrast which is important in the song and my general idea of people being
diverse. I think the colour yellow is a very important colour for me to include in my products as it doesn’t just only stand out over
my backgrounds, but I think the colour can suggest positive things like energy, happiness and optimism which is what my song
reflects in the chorus. I think the colour blue is important because it represents connotations of inspiration and freedom which is
what I think my target audience want when they think about their culture and what they want to wear and listen to everyday
without being judged. I also like blue as the sky is blue on a nice a happy warm day which is the atmosphere and tone, I want to
include in all my products. I think the colour orange gives off connotations of heat and creativity which will make my target
audience think of a nice warm day and how their cultures are different and creative in their own ways.
4. Layout 1
Album cover
Presenting title
'out now'
Available platforms
In this layout, I think it is quite a commonly used
layout for any kind of promotional poster which will
help my target audience know what to look at and
give them exactly what they are looking for
instantly. The positive to this layout is that the main
attraction and image which in this case would be my
album cover is very central and straight in the face
of the audience meaning it’s the first thing they see
as it is also the biggest thing on the poster.. As my
target audience see this, they will receive all the
thoughts of what the song is about through the
cover. Just above the album cover would be the
presenting title which in my case would be "Antony
Sibanda presents". It's important that my name is in
a noticeable place of the promotional poster
because it promotes me as an artist as well. My
name being at the top of the poster in general is
quite noticeable as it may be the first or second
thing that they see in the poster. A question which I
think about is when the song is out or whether its
available to listen to or not if I am engaged with
seeing a good over, so I have put a large 'out now'
just below the album cover. This the follows my
target audience to look at the bottoms displaying all
the available platforms which they can stream it on.
It's important that the available platforms are
smaller than the rest of the text and at the bottom
of the page because although they are important, I
don’t want them to divert the attention on the
poster from the main image which is what is
supposed to draw in and introduce my audience to
what my song is about.
5. Layout 2
Album Cover
Presenting title
'out now'
Available platforms
In this layout it is best suited as a YouTube type banner or billboard which would appear at the top of a display. The strategy for this
poster is to have less on the page but give the audience the information they need quickly. The main image takes all the left-hand side
of the advertisement and the text is all on the right side of the poster. The most important and attractive thing on the page is the album
cover being the biggest thing on the page. This will be the first thing my audience see on the poster which will engage them to read the
text on the left. The presenting title is at the top of all the text on the right. This will include my artist's name which once read once will
then be recognised by my audience next time they hear my song or see my poster. In bigger text just below is the 'out now' text. This is
important to be big because the audience after seeing the album cover will be wondering when and where the song is available to
stream. This will tell the audience straight away that its available as they are reading it. Below this will display the available platforms
where my audience receive the information as to where they can stream my song.

During the
easter holidays I
will be mainly
doing extra
research and
gaining a better
understanding
for my project
and ideas. I will
do this
alongside
recording and
mixing my
vocals to
complete my
song. I will also
need to be
filming and
taking photos
for my products.
It's also
important that I
get some
footage for my
music video

alongside this,
using the
images I took
over easter I will
put together
hopefully my
final album
cover over the 7

photoshop.
In this week of
production, I
will start on my
music video and
just cutting in
my clips nicely. I
will also
hopefully start
on making a
promotional
poster in
photoshop
In this week I
want to do the
finishing
touches of my
promotional
poster. I will
then continue
to work on
editing my
music video by
adding in my
filters and
colours to
change the
lighting of
my raw clips.
In this week I
want to work
primarily on
editing my
music video
adding lots of
effects and
transitions to
bring the video
to life and make
it free flowing
and engaging.
In this week I
want to work on
finishing my

9. Contingency Planning
Potential Issue Solution
If people can't attend filming I wold have to schedule another day or get
somebody else I know who can fit the role who
lives nearby
If my camera/phone runs out of battery Bring a portable charger or an extra battery
If the weather is poor or light of day isnt
correct
Ill scheduele for another day or start filmng
earlier that day
If my comptuer crashes in producton I'll need to regulary save my work and make
multiple versions
If there are private areas where I can't film in
which I wanted to at first
I will need to fil in alternative areas or ask for
permission to film in there
If there are people in the areas of filming I will either wait till they move or find an
alternative area
10. Health and Safety
Potential Issue How will the issue be
avoided?
If there is obstruction at filming spots I will need to risk assess my areas of filming
and get rid of everythg which may put my frieds
or I at risk
Cars getting in the way Make sure im not filming anything requiring me
or my friends to be on the road
