Information
(Where can you get it from? What do you need it for? When will you
need it? How long will you need it for? Cost?)
Lighting
Lighting equipment will be available at school and will just have to be
booked out for the time that is needed so that the school are prepared
and informed on whether or not there is lighting equipment. The
lighting will have to be checked out for all scenes in the short film just
in case as natural lighting is very unpredictable. Overall, the equipment
should be used for three weeks’ maximum. The advantage with having
this equipment at school is that it is free.
Camera
There are a few available options to get this type of equipment. Two
members of the production company (GoFilmYourSelf) have a
professional camera that can easily be used. If these cameras
however don’t turn up on the day needed, there are also camera in
school that can be booked out. Since the equipment is easily available
there is no cost which speeds up the process. A camera will be needed
throughout the film making of the short film, approximately 3 weeks.
Tripod
A tripod may need to be used for certain shots and scenes. Again,
there is one that is available at school, so there should be no problem
with trying to source a tripod. A tripod would most probably be used in
the meeting scenes where there is a conversation happening, so that
the camera movement is fairly still making the audience concentrate on
the characters.
Microphone
In every scene that has dialogue a microphone has to be used in order
to get the highest quality of sound possible for the audience.
Microphones in school are very good quality and gives a clear and
crisp sound for the audience to hear, which is what is wanted. As most
of the dialogue scenes will be shot in a day or two, the microphone
won’t be needed for 3 weeks.
Drone
A drone may be a possibility to use for the short film, as it gives more a
professional look and can easily set the setting of the scene whilst at
the same time keep the audience engaged with such an interesting
shot. A drone is available at school, however, it is more difficult to book
and use as a license is required and can only be used under
supervision.
Energy Drink
This is the main prop that the short film is based around, so it is
important that it is a clear, interesting and realistic product that the
audience can easily relate to from their world. A normal energy drink
can will be reused and the label of the fictional drink will then be added
– avoiding plagiarism. This prop will mainly be used in the last few
scenes so won’t be required for a long amount of time.
Police Badge
The main characters are associated with the police force, therefore,
will need to have a professional uniform or similar. A police badge, is
the final conclusion of what the character will wear, as a full police
uniform is hard to locate in a short amount of time. A badge can easily
be found in a local costume shop, and will be used in all scenes, to
show that the characters are being consistent with their role.
Uniform
Training uniform has been discussed, to keep the short film as realistic
as possible. A simple white T-shirt with the police association logo on it
and black shorts is what the characters will be wearing. Our production
company will provide this for the characters and it will be ready in time
to shoot the training scenes.
Fake Moustache A fake moustache will be purchased for one of the characters, to make
them look older with age. This is essential because it engages the
audience more within the film, and keeps them distracted on how old
the actor really is. This prop can be easily found in a local costume
shop, which is accessible from all members of the production
company.
Projector A projector is needed for one of the briefing scenes at the very
beginning of the short film. It gives a professional and realistic look for
the audience, as a projector will be provided by school. This is
beneficial, because the location is in school and the projector can
easily be transported into a position that we would like. The cost for
this is free as long as the people in charge are informed about the
room and projector being used.
Vehicle A vehicle is widely available for us to use for the short film. The actors
acting, won’t be physically driving as it is illegal in Dubai, however they
will sit and act as convincing as possible to show that they are the
owners of the car.
Final Cut Pro – Editing
Software
Is a common software that is used to produce various products. This
software is already provided by the editor (Gruvin) therefore the cost is
free of charge. Final Cut Pro, will be used as soon as new footage has
been filmed, so that it is all in one place. This will be used from the
start of shooting till the film is completely finished.

This prop will mainly be used in the last few scenes so won’t be required for a long amount of time. Police Badge The main characters are associated with the police force, therefore, will need to have a professional uniform or similar. A police badge, is the final conclusion of what the character will wear, as a full police uniform is hard to locate in a short amount of time. A badge can easily be found in a local costume shop, and will be used in all scenes, to show that the characters are being consistent with their role. Uniform Training uniform has been discussed, to keep the short film as realistic as possible. A simple white T-shirt with the police association logo on it and black shorts is what the characters will be wearing. Our production company will provide this for the characters and it will be ready in time to shoot the training scenes.
  • 2. Fake Moustache A fake moustache will be purchased for one of the characters, to make them look older with age. This is essential because it engages the audience more within the film, and keeps them distracted on how old the actor really is. This prop can be easily found in a local costume shop, which is accessible from all members of the production company. Projector A projector is needed for one of the briefing scenes at the very beginning of the short film. It gives a professional and realistic look for the audience, as a projector will be provided by school. This is beneficial, because the location is in school and the projector can easily be transported into a position that we would like. The cost for this is free as long as the people in charge are informed about the room and projector being used. Vehicle A vehicle is widely available for us to use for the short film. The actors acting, won’t be physically driving as it is illegal in Dubai, however they will sit and act as convincing as possible to show that they are the owners of the car. Final Cut Pro – Editing Software Is a common software that is used to produce various products. This software is already provided by the editor (Gruvin) therefore the cost is free of charge. Final Cut Pro, will be used as soon as new footage has been filmed, so that it is all in one place. This will be used from the start of shooting till the film is completely finished.
