Getting Real with AI - Columbus DAW - May 2024 - Nick Woo from AlignAI
Portfolio (1)
1. my past works.
Many go on and on about the importance of a portfolio, and how it should
always be the focus on one’s profile. Maybe they are right. Frankly the work
and art that you are about to see are not amazing, but there were some
great teammates that are worth going through painful times with, and I
value the discoveries we made together more than technical prowess.
2. Minus (2011)
A film for the French TV Channel “Canal +”. Two comic artists created the story, and I worked with the university
students of “Supinfocom” to create this film. My main roles were animation and camera work.
3. Youth Olympic Games 2010
During the arms race of 3D TVs and movies, my schoolmates and I made this film in conjunction with the
2010 Youth Olympic Games. We were proud to kickstart 3D(Stereoscopic) technology in Singapore
although it has yet to mature into something that will add value to people’s cinematic experiences.
4. Marshmallow (2011) WATCH ON YOUTUBE
Done from scratch in a small team of three, we produced a short comedy film just slightly longer than a minute. Without
supervision, we experimented on our own and drew from past experiences. One of the best projects I have worked on.
5. Product Demonstration Video for Client WATCH ON YOUTUBE
A video to demonstrate our client’s product, and produced both a Web and Mobile version. Due to the short attention
spans, we had to get the point across in less than a minute.
7. Hunted (2010) WATCH ON YOUTUBE
An experimental short film. We took the concept in a darker direction but kept it in a very minor context to see if we can
still create an atmosphere similar to a thriller.
8. Poster Ads for Social Media
Advertising for a Personal Training startup. We played on several themes and also wanted to push the idea of trying out
different sports for cardio rather than running.
9. So there you go, my work is not
amazing. But I’ll try to have a
meaningful journey as I work on it.
