This document discusses the use of conventions in action and spy films. It analyzes several scenes that incorporate these conventions: 1) A close-up shot in the dark creates suspense by not revealing the character's identity. 2) A long shot shows the main character in a suit, referencing the sophistication of spy characters. 3) Incorporating a chase scene with breathing sounds makes the scene feel more realistic and like an action film. 4) An over-the-shoulder shot of a character running puts the audience in their perspective, engaging conventions effectively. 5) Slow motion shots and tense background music are used to mimic successful action films and create suspense.

In this scene, we are presented with a long shotof the
main character.We can see that he is wearinga suit
which is immediately one of the key conventions within
action/ spy movies as itmakes them look more
sophisticated and intelligentas well as secretive.
One of the key forms and conventions of an action/ spy
movie is either a chasescene or some sortof running. In this
scene, I incorporated itin with some sound effects of
breathing to convey that this is an action movieand makes
it feel and look much more realistic
Through my research of action movies, I found that one
of the most effective shots to use within an action movie
is an over the shoulder shot of perhaps someone running
which is what I incorporated into my film. Itputs the
audiencein the character’s position and shows howI
have used forms and conventions of actions movies
effectively.
This scene also uses forms andconventions of anaction/ spy
movie. Thisis because I triedto incorporate a slow motion shot
into myfilms whichis what a lot of successful action movies do
which made myfilm lookandfeelmore realistic;like the
audience felt what was happening. Here is a specific example of
where I have triedto develop the conventions of action movies
because I alsoadded tense music inthe backgroundto give the
audience a feeling like something is about to happen.
Here is another example of where I have tried to use and
then develop forms and conventions of action movies. This is
because duringthis scene, I tried to make it a slowmotion
shot when he is openingthe door to make it more
suspenseful and tense which is somethingthey regularly do
in other action movies. The way I tried to develop itis by
addingeerie back music to itto make the audiencefeel like
something is about to happen.
