What is ART?
Have you ever wondered what
art is? Is it only about paintings
and sculptures found in
museums? How about the
jingles we hear in commercials,
or those decorations on our
food, is that considered art?
is the expression of one's feelings
through creating out of their
imagination
ART A tool for communication. Whether
it is a painting or a performance as
long as it is a venue for one to
convey or express a thought,
emotions or aspirations
*Every Artwork reflects the artist and
his/her society.
*Art offers us a chance to learn and
understand artist and the regions
where they belong through their

ACTIVITY 1
ART
is defined as the manifestation or use of the various creative
disciplines. It is produced by buman creativity and skill to express
oneself.
It comes in many forms and disciplines such as literature and media
arts but the most familiar of which is the visual and performing arts.

Is a term used to describe a
wide array of artistic
disciplines that are
appreciated primarily
through sight. Visual arts
include the different art
forms and disciplines such
as fine arts, decorative arts,
and contemporary art
• FINE ARTS
Are the artworks we readily associate with
art. The term " fine arts" was first used to
describe the art forms created primarily for
its appearance rather than its practical use.
As time passed, this term was used to
include artworks that came about from
emerging technology and artistic
innovations.

crafts, are artworks that
are both aesthetically
pleasing and functional.

On a short bond paper, create a brief report or
research on a contemporary art form. It may be an
art form not mentioned in this lesson. The report
should include the art form's characteristics ,
history, proponent/s , and a picture of an example
artwork of the form.
PERFORMING ARTS
artists use their voices, and/or their
body movements to communicate
artistic expression and are meant to
be enacted in front of an audience
•Types: music, dance, and theater
universal form of art defined as the
manipulation of sound and silence blends pitch,
rhythm, dynamics, timbre, and texture to create
sound can be performed live or recorded can be
prepared in advance or improvised
MUSIC
•Art music – is the umbrella term used to refer to music
that stems from Western Classical Music. It is usually
presented and preserved through written musical
notations developed in Europe
•Popular music - music accessible and commercially
available to the public played through mass media
outlets
•Traditional music - community and culturally based
music passed on through generations via communication
COMMON MUSIC GENRE
•regulated and deliberated order of body movements
which have aesthetic value and are often performed
accompanied by music
•Comes in several forms such as
ballet, belly dance, break dance, improvisation dance,
hiphop, modern dance, contemporary dance, and
traditional dance
DANCE
is a brach of performing arts that often involves the
integration and combination of the visual and
performing arts.
Defined as fine art •where actors or actresses-- thru the
use of gestures, music, song, dance, and visual arts--
perform experiences and communicate a story, whether
real or imagined, in front of a live audience

• Musical Theater
• Traditional Theater

Mime
ACTIVITY
Choose a dance style from the list above,
and perform it in class. This can be done
as a group . The performance should be
around 2-3 minutes long and should be
accompanied with appropriate music.

  • 4. What is ART? Have you ever wondered what art is? Is it only about paintings and sculptures found in museums? How about the jingles we hear in commercials, or those decorations on our food, is that considered art?
  • 5. is the expression of one's feelings through creating out of their imagination ART A tool for communication. Whether it is a painting or a performance as long as it is a venue for one to convey or express a thought, emotions or aspirations

  • 7. WHY DO PEOPLE CREATE ART? WHY PEOPLE MAKE SONGS, PERFORM DANCES, OR DRAW?

  • 10. ART is defined as the manifestation or use of the various creative disciplines. It is produced by buman creativity and skill to express oneself. It comes in many forms and disciplines such as literature and media arts but the most familiar of which is the visual and performing arts.
  • 12. VISUAL ARTS Is a term used to describe a wide array of artistic disciplines that are appreciated primarily through sight. Visual arts include the different art forms and disciplines such as fine arts, decorative arts, and contemporary art
  • 13. • FINE ARTS Are the artworks we readily associate with art. The term " fine arts" was first used to describe the art forms created primarily for its appearance rather than its practical use. As time passed, this term was used to include artworks that came about from emerging technology and artistic innovations.

It can be expressed using traditional art forms such as paintings, sculptures, pottery etc. , produced using new art techniques such as installation and assemblage.
