Visual Arts and It’s Elements
Arts are generally grouped into major and minor arts. Major arts
include paintings, architecture, sculpture, literature, music and
dance. Major arts involve the following:
Forms, content, and execution
Appeal to the senses (sight, hearing, and healing)
Notable in effect, dignity and interest
Minor arts include the decorative arts, popular arts, graphic
arts, plastic arts, and industrial arts. It is inferior in degree
especially in extent of aesthetic quality. Aesthetic factor of minor
arts lies in the "styling and addressed to the sense of sight and

Visual Arts

into graphic art and plastic art.

•Have flat two-dimensional surface such as painting, drawing,

Plastic Arts
•Visual art with three-dimensional forms. Under this
architectural design, construction of buildings, landscape,
interior designs for beauty and convenience.
•It includes the following: furnishings – accessories, floor, ceiling,

sculpture out of stone, wood, clay, metal and ivory; craft and
