I have mostly worked for green energy companies in this period, promoting or
appointment generating to commercial clients for Wind, Solar, Biomass and Energy

Our Co. CHI-QI (pronounced Chee Kee) was 4 years in development.
The ideals behind it were to create a safe but totally contemporary environment for
the distribution of new music and new art allied to a green and ethical community
provision. To this effect we were the first ethical distributor of mobile/digital music
from new and emerging music producers. Our artwork was totally 21st century, with
particular emphasis given to new digital art styles and themes. Furthermore, we
sought to promote total diversity. Most of our artists and musicians came from all
over the globe and include all ethnic groups and disabled artists.

Besides being the main funder for the Co. I was also responsible for overseeing all
aspects of the business and managing a team of six full time personnel. From artist
contracts to provision of Business Plan and Marketing Plan, from resourcing new
artists to directing future sales and marketing policy, I was involved at all stages. Over
time I personally secured agreements with 3 Mobile, Orange, Nokia, 9Squared in
USA and The Orchard, who are the largest digital music distribution group in the
world. Many lesser contracts were also signed with groups from India, USA and UK.
We also conducted a number of live events, inc. showcasing “Evolution” a dance and
music representation of African culture and history.
CHI-QI has now been sold to NWA Records who have taken over our music
catalogue.

Working freelance; running telesales and tele-marketing for local companies seeking
to generate new business or expand their sales operations. In all I contracted with
around 12 different groups. Most business was B2B and included full contract
services as well as one off representation. I also developed tele-sales scripts for a big
local call centre now known as “Converso” in Southend on Sea, for the MD Mr Paul
Harris, on a regular ad hoc basis.

Self Employed Business start up trainer for Business Link Essex
Working from local enterprise agencies in: -Westcliff on Sea, Southend on Sea and
Chelmsford.
I presented my own training programmes in sales, marketing and business start up to
groups of individuals provided by the Enterprise agencies, mainly in one day or one
week seminars. This included tele-sales, direct sales, courtesy and referral marketing,
budget marketing and presentation through to director level.

MD of Delmar Products Ltd (Re-named Natracell Technologies Ltd)
With the inventor we introduced a new organic rodenticide, so safe children could eat.
After providing proprietary science, lab tests/reports, toxicity proofs and conducting
of supervised field trials I got certification for use from the then PSD – Pesticides
Safety Directorate – which took nearly three years of applications and submission. It
was finally granted a license in Dec 1999.
Concurrently, I conducted a similar programme in obtaining a license from the South
African Govt, meeting the licensing agency in Pretoria and then conducting
supervised field trials at a farm in Durban, which was then overrun with rodents.
Following my efforts in establishing the co. for launch and preparing the sales and
marketing initiatives I was bought out following a hostile takeover by the financiers,
who until then had been silent partners.
The co, entered for the Millennium Essex County Business Award Finals then went
on to win the final to much local acclaim.
June 1991 – Mar 1996
Owner/Proprietor of “Excel Stock Exchange”
The co. name was given special dispensation to trade by the then Secretary of State’s
Office for the DTI. It was allowed to trade in physical stocks and commodities, but
not stocks, shares or other financial instruments.
I acted as broker or buyer in the trade of distressed, redundant and other job stock lots,
from containers of t-shirts to DIY stocks and cosmetics.
The co. was a winner of the Southend District Business Awards and was an entrant in
the Essex County Finals.
Sept 1986 – May 1991
Sales and Marketing Director for “Channel Water Meters Ltd” and “Channel
Civils Ltd”

5. The co. starting from scratch became the largest water meter fitment group in the
country with clients from The AA to Zoo clothing. I trained our own sales team in
appointment generation, tele-marketing and B2B representation, as well as being
responsible for all aspects of sales, marketing and contract negotiation.
We then moved into large scale test metering for water boards, with a £500k contract
on the Isle of Wight to fit 6000 internal water meters, followed by others, culminating
in a £million contract with North West Water.
Unfortunately, the Govt of the day declined to expand metering nationwide as had
been expected and the co. rapidly ran down, having lost its core business.
The Co. won the 1990 Southend District Business Awards and was thereafter in the
Essex County Finals for that year.
Previous to this:
I sold property in Ibiza, ending up as resort sales manager at Vadella Pueblo in Cala
Vadella.
As a young man before that I was a self employed drinks design consultant designing
themed menus for breweries such as Courage and drink companies such as Campari
and International Vintners (Baileys Irish Cream). I also trained staff at various venues
and worked many promo nights for companies, bars and nightclubs.
After leaving College in 1976, I spent a year as a trainee manager at Southend’s then
leading dept store, “Keddies”, based in the High Street. It is now a club and bar
complex.

I have a beautiful 22 year old daughter. She has had learning difficulties and attends a

above all things.
