Music Director – InternaƟonal Children’s Games/Lake Macquarie Carols
The InternaƟonal Children’s Games (ICG) is an Olympic SancƟoned event for 12-15 year olds and the largest mulƟ-sport youth
games in the world.
In December 2014, the ICG was hosted in the Southern Hemisphere for the first Ɵme in the City of Lake Macquarie NSW. The
event drew 1500 athletes, heads of delegaƟon, coaches and VIP’s, along with 3000 internaƟonal and naƟonal visitors who
enjoyed five days of compeƟƟon, ceremonies and cultural events.
As Music Director, I was responsible for overseeing, bringing direcƟon and making decisions for all music aspects of the games,
including:
• AudiƟons for all featured singers.
• Two months of rehearsals for a 19 piece orchestra and 30 voice choir.
• WriƟng original arrangements for all aspects of the Opening Ceremony and the Carols event that followed directly
aŌerwards.
• WriƟng theme songs, as well as arranging and producing these songs ready for commercial producƟon.
• Liaison with celebriƟes/headline acts.
• WriƟng, recording and filming commercials for TV and radio.
• An acƟve parƟcipant in the Ceremonies CommiƩee of the Games.

Hope Alliance is a Not for Profit AssociaƟon established by Phil Tweed and his wife Jodi to raise funds and facilitate projects
within Nepal. Phil and Jodi manage all the program development, fundraising acƟviƟes and communicaƟon materials. This is
done in a voluntary capacity with dedicated commiƩee members. www.hopealliance.org.au

I conduct around 40 wedding ceremonies each year. This involves the following:
• Preparing legally required paperwork and relevant documentaƟon.
• RegistraƟon requirements for ceremonies are lodged on Ɵme with the Office of Births, Deaths and Marriages, including
online registraƟons and paperwork.
• Secure record keeping.
• Client liaison, meeƟngs and emails.
• ConducƟng public ceremonies in front of crowds.
• Equipment setup and maintenance.

The Kurri Kurri Nostalgia FesƟval is a rock n roll fesƟval celebraƟng the 50’s and 60’s. AƩracƟng crowds of 40,000 people over a
weekend annually and injecƟng four million dollars into the local economy
2006 Values EducaƟon Resource
Writer and Director
With my wife Jodi, we wrote and produced a full musical producƟon called “‘sPlat” and an associated music CD called “Values
in Song”, as a professional learning resource for the Federal and State Governments Values EducaƟon curriculum. The resource
has been marketed and distributed naƟonally and is included in the NaƟonal Music curriculum for Primary schools. Many of
the songs have also been included on the ABC “Sing” series of CDs and music resources distributed to all Australian Schools.

CCCI was a public company limited by guarantee, established in July 1995, to act as trustee of various unincorporated
organisaƟons. I sat on the board of directors for this organisaƟon from 1997 – 2003. I also was employed as a pastoral care
worker and music director for the organisaƟon, also including running the Soapbox Café, a fundraiser for Life Shapers Family
Services (see below) and live music venue for over five years.

Life Shapers is Public Benevolent InsƟtuƟon and community based organizaƟon that works with individuals and families in
helping them build successful futures. Life Shapers also ran a Work for the Dole programme that I was acƟvely involved with,
training jobless people in food preparaƟon and hospitality, including the provision of regular free meals to homeless and needy
people in Newcastle.
