Nov 2016 This was my own retail business run together with my wife selling specialist
electronics, collectibles, merchandise and clothing/apparel at conventions, rallies and
exhibitions across a variety of states in the USA. These events included annual
motorcycle rallies, classic car shows, sci-fi and comic conventions. This involved:
Booking all events, dealing with promoters, loading and unloading cargo trailers with
tailored stock and promotional items, transporting, setting up and down promotional
stands as well personally being involved in ‘point of sale’.
Liaising with wholesalers, ordering stock in advance of events, managing inventory and
rotation of stock within the warehouse.
Brand creation with promotional stands, banners, fliers, tickets, give outs customised for
specific events and exhibitions.
Handling of all financial matters associated with running a business.
Maintaining successful and healthy working relationships with all event staff,

predominantly UK electronic dance, drum & bass, dubstep and club music.
Reading on-air events, promoting club nights and shows both in Spanish and English.
Producing commercials and jingles using Cool Edit Pro Software and remixes.
Live on-air interviews with local San Jose DJ ‘s and electronic music producers.

Dec 2007 Classic Rock Radio and Top 40 - target audience was local tourist business and Ex Pat
residents as this was the only English radio station nationwide. Internally promoted.
The day to day running of the radio station which included managing 10 employees.
Collecting monthly invoice payments from local businesses.
Motivating all presenters and sales staff to successfully hit targets and create interesting
and ‘listenable’ radio shows.
Holding regular sales meetings with the DJ’s and Sales staff to set targets, goals and
create leads as well as personally ‘closing’ sales that required a tailored package of
commercial and ad campaigns to satisfy them.
Training and inducting new on-air hosts the image and culture that Rubi represented
including how this was promoted, what to say, when to say it and what not to say.
