You can connect with new people for instance alumni from your school, former employer, friend’s co-workers. Recommendation. Former employer or colleague can write you a short recommendation usually it is very short, 1-2- paragaph but very consise.
Jobs: All sorts of jobs listings are posted on LinkedIn everyday by employers, and LinkedIn will recommend specific jobs to you based on your current information, including your location and optional job preferences that you can fill out to get better-tailored job listings.
Interests: In addition to your connections with professionals, you can follow certain interests on LinkedIn as well. These include company pages, groups according to location or interest. For instance, I am an active blood donor and I mentioned it on my profile. Linkedin showed me all hospitals around me and recommend me to contact them if I want to donate blood with them.
