3. Roy Lichtenstein was an American pop artist. During the 1960s, along with
Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, and James Rosenquist among others, he became
a leading figure in the new art movement. His work defined the premise of
pop art through parody. Inspired by the comic strip, Lichtenstein produced
precise compositions that documented while they parodied, often in a tongue-
in-cheek manner. His work was influenced by popular advertising and the
comic book style. He describe pop art as "not 'American' painting but actually
industrial painting”. His paintings were exhibited at the Leo Castelli Gallery in
New York City.

6. I start off with creating
the semi circle rainbow
that appears in the left
corner of the poster.
Then I create the spikey
bubble that describes
the content of what the
gallery is presenting.
Next, I create the
title of the
exhibition, in
which the sign
will be hand
drawn whilst the
rest is digital.
I then create the second text
bubble, which will show the
name of the artists whose
work will be displayed.
I then moved on
to create the
distinctive stripes
that appear in
Lichtenstein's
work, usually they
appear in corners.
Next, I create the corner
bubble, which will show
the timings and location
of where it will be held.
Finally, I added the
cloud burst that
come out of the
side of the title for
a unique effect.
This is the final
result of the plan,
it was all hand
drawn in pencil.

9. Problem Solving: We only had one problem in mind and that was finding a reliable book source
for our research on pop art, but we solved it by asking one of the library staff to help us. As a
result, they found a very reliable source that contains all the history of the art genre.
Group Collaboration: We worked well as a group, taking into account each others ideas, we
commented appropriately on each others brainwaves and thought on what we could include
within the product.
How you used feedback from your tutor to improve your work: Brittany suggested that I changed
the small font to a more pop art vibe to make it fit into the theming of the poster. I changed it
from Arial to Hobo Std.
Defining the benefits of active engagement: It was a great benefit for me because I felt
enthusiastic and got involved deeply. Also, everyone contributed towards a shared idea and no
quarrels were involved.
Defining the benefits of working with others: We worked together as a team really well. I enjoyed
this because I got to express my ideas as well as praise the others ideas, combining them
together made it a perfect outcome.
