• - Rendering is a time-consuming and often
causes the video to crash
3. Adobe Photoshop
• Used to create borders for the video and
cartoon titles
• Created the Digipak and Full Page Ad
• + Sophisticated photo editing tool
5. Quick Time
• Creating Video files
• Exporting to smaller videos (for putting on
Blogger etc
• + Very versatile and made it easy to swap
between Mac and PC
6. MPEG Streamclip
• Changing the format of my footage into an
easily editable format.
• + Makes it easy to swap between hardware
but ultimately work in one format e.g. easy
to convert video from phone and iPad
• - It’s important to export the right format
and getting it wrong can cause problems
7. Microsoft Word
• Writing notes
• Typing up the shotlist, shooting schedule
etc.
• Spell checking my blog posts
• Planning script for evaluations
• - Different versions of the program arent
compatible
8. Microsoft Powerpoint
• Presentation to class
• Answering evaluation questions
• + Very good presentation tool; easy to
share
• - Presentations can be static and boring
without video or audio links
9. Web Browsers
• Predominantly Safari and Google Chrome
• Used for general internet access
• Research of previous A level work & real
media texts
• Emailing work
• Gaining feedback
• + Used everyday
• - School browser filtered numerous useful
websites
10. Blogger
• I used blogger to keep my coursework in
one place.
• For my Teacher and the examiners to
review and mark.
• + Good hub for all my work
• - Text presentation can be hit and miss; I
haven’t worked out how to reorder posts
according to subject
11. Youtube
• Uploaded videos and evaluation questions to
put onmyblog.
• Researched real media texts
• + Interactive resource for consuming and
contributing
• Gaining feedback
13. Beemp3.com
• I used beemp3 to download my track

• Technically illegal software
14. Desktop iMac
• Used for all work in school
• + Linked to a network so computer work
can be flexible
• - Crashed often
• - Computers were often unavailable
• -Limited timings
15. Canon SLR 550D
• This is the camera that the majority of the
music video was filmed with.
• + Digital SD card transfers files to
computer via a card reader
• + High Definition filming capability
• - SD card capacity limited the amount of
filming (had to purchase another one
whilst shooting!)
