5. Internal Analysis
The Bhakti Synthesis, written by Kabir – the
blind Muslim weaver-poet of the 15th
century, who were the best-known
representative of the Hindu-Muslim fusion in
the bhakti movement, wrote in his poet
about the love and devotion to only one God.
And anyone regardless of his/her status in life
can achieve salvation, if he/she will walk on
the path of righteousness.
1
The Vijayanagara empire of victory
was created due to the conflict,
invasion and spreading of Islam of the
north to the south, they became a
very rich nation for 3 centuries, up to
the end when their king died.

6. Interpretation
Condemnation on of rituals,
ceremonies, and blind faith
Believes that there is no
distinction between
castes, higher or low
Unity of God, although
known by different
names.
Emphasizes on spiritual
and humanitarian
development of men
“I am neither in the temple nor in the mosque,
Not in rites and ceremonies nor in yoga and renunciation.
“It is needless to ask of a saint the caste to which he belongs,
For the priest, the warrior, tradesman and other castes,
Are all alike seeking God
“Every supplicant offers his worship to the God of his own creation,
None seek him, the perfect, the indivisible Lord.
• “The man who is kind and who practices righteousness, who remains
passive amidst the affairs of the world, who considers all creature on
earth as his own self, he attains immortal being.
7. Vijayanagara Empire of Victory
1
Raids of
the Delhi
Sultanate
2
Unification of
the south to rise
against the
Muslim
associates in the
northern
Deccan.
3
The city was
populous and had
one of the most
magnificent
temples at that
time.
4
The reason of the
for the empires’
success is that, the
king leads and wins
the affection of his
subjects with
kindness, charity,
and serving them.
5
36 years after the
death of the king,
due to the coalition
attack of the Islamic
Sultanates and the
new Mughal
conquerors of
northern India,
6
Vijayanagara
was
destroyed
and ended its
empire.
8. Reflection
The Bhakti Synthesis
• In the time of turmoil wherein people were divided by different religions
and castes, the bhakti synthesis is a great reprieve. It is a fusion of the
two religions – Islam and Hinduism, a great alternative as belief. Bhakti
has a universal appeal as well as its solace attracted the mass following in
all parts of India. It doesn’t care about the superficial traditions such as
ceremonials, sacrifices, blind faith for the people to do to appease the
gods that they are worshipping, in the bhakti movement, if a person is
doing good and is full of love and devotion he can be saved, disregarding
the castes and status of oneself.
9. Reflection
Vijayanagara Empire of Victory
• In the impending invasion of the Delhi
Sultanate to the south, the people created
the Vijayagara Empire to resist the power
from the north, and preserve Hinduism.
Just like how the Muslims in the southern
part of the Philippines fought against the
Spaniards.
• They created temple and made the capital
Vijayagar prosperous. Part of the empires
success, is with the way of the king to lead,
using charity and kindness to his subjects.
The kingdom fell due to the allegiance of
the Delhi Sultanate and the Mughal
conquerors.
