institution might distribute media

2. Why have you chosen your production
company logo?
We created this particular production logo and it involves the images
representing the generic conventions of a horror and thriller film. The logo has
blood dripping down across the screen which is also another convention. If a
person saw this, they will instantly know that this is a horror film production.
3. What is a production company and what do
they do?
A production company is responsible for the development (pre-production) and
the physical production of a film/media text. They are responsible for
marketing, scripting, casting, scheduling and constructing for the film. Each
production company produces for a specific media production.
4. What is the job of a film distributor?
A film distributor has the responsibility of marketing a film. They set the release
date of the film and also the availablity of any viewing of the film (Trailers,
Viewings at the cinema , DVD’s etc.).
5. Which film distributor would you choose and
why? What other films have they distributed
that are similar to yours?
A film distributor I would choose for my film to be distributed is Blumhouse
Productions. I have chosen this company because it is well known for its horror
and thriller films which matches my genre. This company distributed films such
as Creep (2014) which has similar aspects to my film.
6. How would your film be funded?
The film would be funded by a budget set by Blumhouse Productions. This is
because the institution would want to fund the movie since it has their
trademark as a distributor. They would support the film because they would
want it to be successful.
7. Titles - Why do you need them and how have
you presented them?
We have included the titles with the film opening because they are a necessary
convention within a film opening. We had to clearly identify everyone who was
part of the film (this includes actors, camera and editing crew). We used a fade
transition for the titles so that it is a smooth transition during the scenes.
