1. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
2. A production company is a company that is in charge of producing various types of media, and in some cases, obtain money for the production. Many actors start up their own production companies so ensure greater control over their careers. What does a production company do?
3. What Production company logos have you chosen and or created and why? We did not have enough time during production to integrate a production company of our own into the opening sequence, however if we did, we would have called it ‘JAM productions’, integrating the names of all the people who were involved in to production of the film.
4. A film distributor is a person or company that releases films to the public, either to cinemas or to DVDs, for example, for home viewing. This can either be done directly or through sub-distributors. Films can only be released directly if the distributer is an owner of a theatre or distribution networks. What does a distributor do?
5. Why have you chosen the distribution company you have to release your film? We would choose ‘Screen Gems’ to distribute our film because they were the distributor of ‘When a Stranger Calls’, which is the film that we have compared our own to, and so we believe that they would be very aware of our target audience and would therefore be a good choice of company to release our film.
