Introduction
 sensor is an electronic component, module, or
subsystem whose purpose is to detect events or
changes in its environment and send the information
to other electronics.
 In this module we are going to use smart sensors to
make inventions that is going to help people in the
future.
Activity 1: Evading Motion Detection
 Objective: To detect motion of live beings
 Steps:
 Try to throw different object in front of the sensor
 Try to walk or run infront of the sensor
 Try to stand without any movements
Activity 1: Evading Motion Detection
 Results
 The sensor can detect Infra red radiation
 The sensor can detect only movements
 Conclusion
 We an use this sensor in night vision cameras that only
works on movements
Activity 2: Taking a tour of some sensors
 Objective: The main target from this activity was to
learn more about smart sensors and how it works and
how it used in toys and , devices, and different
applications.
 Steps: get some sensors and know it’s input and
output.
 Try to talk ,move, press and blow on the sensor and
how it react.
Activity 2: Taking a tour of some
sensors
 Results:
 Conclusion:we discovered that smart sensors has many
typs and many uses and that Smart sensors enable
more accurate and automated collection of
environmental data with less erroneous.

Activity 3: Making Microphone
 Objective:the main objective was to use smart
sensor(pvdf)to make a simple microphone.
 Steps: get an pvdf sensor and connect it to
amplifer/speaker by a crocodile.
 Try to talk, blow and flick in front of the sensor.
Activity 3: Making Microphone
 Results: that we can make a simple microphone
 Conclusion: choosing a sensor is based on the
applications that the sensor is going to used at.

Activity 4: Exploring the Piezo Effect :Inside
story
 Objective:
 To know the chemical of instruction of the polimar of
the (pvdf) sensor.
 The pdvf sensor is made from a polymer
named:(C2F2H2).
Activity 5: Measuring Piezoelectric or
Pyroelectric Response
 Objective: study how pvdf senses pressure and
converts themointo.
 Steps: get (pvdf) and croco and multimeter.
 Connect the pvdf and multimeter.
 Apply pressure and movements on the pvdf.
 Read the output volt from the multimeter.
Activity 5: Measuring Piezoelectric or
Pyroelectric Response
 Results: that when we make more prussure on the
pvdf we get more output volt.
 Conclusion: that pvdf has pizeoelectric propertis
and pyroelectric properties.

Design Project: Design a Coin
Counter
 Objective: study how coin counter works from inside.
 To know how smart sensors used in our modern life
and see examples for it.
Design Project: Design a Coin
Counter
 Results: that smart sensors like pvdf are used in the coin
counter to magrer the pressure cased by the coin.
 Conclusion: That pvdf sensors can identfiy diffrend
objects from it’s mass by mageraing the volt cased by the
pressure from the mass.

Final Project: Attention catcher
 Introduction and Rationale:
 We choose this project to try to save more lifes by avoid traffic
accidents that cased by people whoes distracted by using ther
phons while walking or crossing the streets.
 That project is going to be very useful in the crowded streets and
cities and will be useful in cities like doha in the world cup (2022)
.
 the special thing about the project that it’s cheep-simple and
easy to use other wise it can save lives.
 Our project is made from simple and popular materials like:
plastic/led lights/pvdf sensors/small microphone. And that is
going to give the project more advantges.
Attention catcher
Aim of the work (objectives) (‫البحث‬ ‫)هدف‬
Our target from this is to save more valuable lifes
by execution this project in the main streets and
traffic lights to warn people about the dangorus that
they are not attention to it.
To help Qatar on organizenig the streets of the
main cities during the world cup 2022 and help to
make it saver.
Attention catcher
Hypothesis: (‫)الفرضية‬
 Our project hypothesis is that our idea is going to
help our country to save more life by Implement
our project.
Attention catcher
Materials
 the materials of our project is very popular and easy to
get .
 First of all we need about 2-3 meter fron plastic
tube(transparent).
 Led lights (green and red).
 Flixable (pvdf) sensors.
 Superfine rubber cover.
 Small speaker.
 Wires(2-4 meter)
Attention catcher
Method
1. Distribute the pvdf on the ground of crossroads
or trafficlights walk space and cover the sensors
with the suberfine rubber.
2. Put the led ligths into the tube and connect it to
the pvdf by the wires(so when we put prussure
into the pvdf the red light work).
3. Conect the speaker to the lights so when the
lights work the speaker play a small tone.
Attention catcher
Results: (‫)النتائج‬
 The product solve a very good part of the problem
that it designed for and the tests of the product
shows a good reduces in the traffic accidents.
 The project has got many uses in many ways
because it’s easy to bild and composition and that
will help the project to spread out fast beside the
damges that the product is going to help us to
avoid and that will save the lifes and the puplic
mony.
Attention catcher
Recommendations: (‫)التوصيات‬
we recomand for more research and experiences on our
project to gain more painfits from the idea.
Conclusions
Iwould like to thank al-bairaq and the university of Qatar
also I would like to thank the sponsors UNESCO, Qatar
National Commission, Ras Gas, and Shell for helping us by
opiningacompetition that was very useful and we gained a
lot of experience and knowlage from it and recommend
ever student to take part in it.
Acknowledgment
