Module Polymers: Through this module, students examine the different properties of the variety of polymers. Then they design and test a humidity sensor made of a polymer film. Finally, they are asked to design their own products.

What’s the polymer ?
A polymer is a large molecule, or
macromolecule, composed of many repeated
subunits.
4. Activity 1: Changing polymer pellets .
1- Add two 0.5 g of the polymer, in a plain water.

1- Write the table .
2- Use pipettes to take polymer solution .
3- Make a layer of the solution on the slide .
Keep it for
48 hour .

1- Use a razor blade to peel off films
After 48 hour
2- Initial lenght of the film .
4- Measure and record
the length every 1 min.

Characteristics of epoxy :
1- Susceptibility high adhesion .
2- Lack of contraction when drying .
3- Resides in the liquid state .

The First day :
1- used sand, cement and epoxy polymer

2- Anoints the mold with
epoxy
3- mixed cement with sand and some water

4- Put the mixture in the mold which
anointed by epoxy

Recommendations :
1- We recommend anointing the mold
which the concrete materials kneaded on
it , to prevent adhesion .
2- Project should be wider applied and
use special ovens for drying polymer
quickly after anointing .
