3. Richard Trevithick
• Thirty years later,
Richard Trevithick
had a different
idea. He used o
steam engine to
pull a wagon along
an iron track- and
invented the tram.
On a flat road. It
went at 24km (15
miles) per
hour. He was
inventor of first
4. Etienne Lenoir
and Karl Benz
• First cars were modified by
many inventors, were
powered by gunpowder, by
huge batteries or
electricity. Finally Etienne
Lenoir designed engine
powered only by petrol.
Then Karl Benz built first
car with this engine. It had
three wheels, one seat and
small engine at the back.
From this moment every
carriage was horseless.
6. First race: good, better, best
cars • Everyone would like to
have a best car, so in 1895
people started to have a
races. First race was from
Paris to Bordeaux and back
again. In France there was
no speed limit but in Great
Britain it was duty of red
flag, so they were driven at
a snail's pace. When it was
finally abolished, British
designer, Henry Royce
made really comfortable
and fast car.

7. Charles Rolls

A rich landowner Rolls with Henry Royce created first luxury logo of comfortable
and luxury cars for rich people. First car called Silver Ghost.
9. Henry Ford
He designed
first cheaper car and
more available for every
family. He produced cars in
big factory by assembly line.
It was a breakthrough.
10. Traffic lights
• When traffic signals by lights were
invented in 1920 it started to be safer on
the roads.
• Over time roads grew safer so new British
law said cars must have two lamps at the
front and one on the back. Then bumper
was invented, and many cars started to
have started switch, windscreens with
wipers.
12. Topolino
• Topolino from Italian is a little mouse. It's is a
2-seat car presented for the first time in
1936 ang produced until 1955. Had a 569 cm
bottom valve engine with a capacity of 13
HP at 4000 rpm. Its small size and gray color.
The vehicle weighed less than 400
kilogrames and reached a top speed of
around 85 km/h.

13. Austin Seven
• Austin 7 cars were also built in
sports and racing versions, for
competitions in the H category.
The latter received low
streamlined bodies, and in order
to lower the driver's seat as much
as possible, the engine block,
drive shaft and rear axle were
mounted in them not in the
longitudinal axis, but diagonally.
so that the differential was next to
the left rear wheel.

14. Bullnose Morris
• "Bullnose" Morris Oxford is a
series of car models
produced by the Morris
company from Great Britain
in the years 1913-1926. He
was named by WR Morris
after the city where he grew
up and where his cars were
to be industrialized.

15. Mini Morris
• a small car produced by the British Motor
Corporation (BMC) and its successors from
1959 to 2000. In 2001 the Mini brand was
purchased by BMW. The original version of
this car gained a cult status and became an
icon of the 1960s and its space-saving front-
wheel drive influenced the generation of
vehicle designers

16. Studebaker
Starlight
• In 1950 and 1951, all Studebakers
received a 1947 design refresh with the
addition of a front metal "bullet nose" (or
"spinner") design. Combined with the
Starlight exterior, the Studebakers looked
relatively futuristic at the time. This
version of the Starlight body was
continued until the end of the 1952
model year, when it was sold alongside
the Starliner hardtop version of the same
model.

17. Bluebird
• In 1956, Campbell began planning a car to break the land speed record of
394mph (634 km / h) set by John Cobb at the Railton Mobil Special. The
Norris brothers, who designed the highly successful Campbell Bluebird K7
seaplane, designed the Bluebird-Proteus CN7 with a speed of 300 miles per
hour (480 km / h) in mind.

18. Green Monster
• The Green Monster was
powered by a surplus F-104
Starfighter, a General Electric
J79 jet engine producing 17,500
lbf (78 kN) four-stage
afterburner static thrust, which
Arfons purchased from a $ 600
scrap dealer and rebuilt itself
despite objections from General
Electric and the government.
and despite the fact that all
engine manuals have been
classified as top secret.
19. Tbrust SSC
• Thrust SSC (Super Sonic Car -
supersonic car) - British turbojet
car built by Richard Noble, Glynne
Bowsher, Ron Ayers and Jeremy
Bliss to break the speed record
and break the sound barrier on
land. The record was broken on
October 15, 1997, during an
attempt at the bottom of a dry
salt lake in the Black Rock Desert
in the US state of Nevada.
