2. SIET, The State Institute of Educational Technology was constitutedby
Government of India in all state to promote learning and to educate the
students,using radio and television
SIET will be responsible for the planning, research, production and
evaluationof educational software like video,audio programmes and
computer multimedia
SIET has been set up in various states such as Andra Pradesh,Bihar,Gujarat,
Maharashtra,Orissa,kerelaand uttar Pradesh inorder to implement the
INSAT for education project effectively
3. These institutes are functioning under the administrative control of SCERT in
some states and in the Directorate of Education in other state
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) renders fianancial
assistanceon SIETs
The State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERTs) are mainly
expected to implement the Educational Technology projects utilizing all
kinds of modern media, methods and material
4. SIET Kerala
SIET Kerala is an autonomous institution working as a part of general education
department,Govt of Kerala
SIET kerelais one among the other seven SIEt ,in the country
Department of education, MHR,Govt of India sactioned the SIET for Kerala in
1998 and started functioningin1999
The rules and regulations of the institute are recognized by the state cabinet
The executive committee with the minister of Education as chairman and the
secretary for general education as the vice chairman and has 16 members in
all
Day to day administration is carried out by a full time director
