A/An is not used before uncountable With
unconditional nouns.

A/An is not used before the name of meal.

We eat dinner together.
(Not we eat a dinner

But if adjective is used before the name of meal
then a/an is used.
If special meal is given in a ceremony then a/an
can be used.

The
Rule-1:
The” is not placed before proper nouns.
But when the article is used before proper
noun, it becomes common noun.

A Newton (= a scientist ) can not
be a Milton( = a poet)
Rule-2:
The” is not placed before material and
abstract noun.

Honesty is the best policy.
(Not the Honesty is the best
policy)

But “the” can be used if the structure is as
follows- (particularly referred)
Material noun / abstract noun + of + noun

Rule-3:
“The” is not usedbefore the name of meal & games.

But If special meal is given in a ceremony then
“The” can be used.

“The” is not used after possessive case.

“The” is not used before the name of the
parts of body/ the name of cloth.

Rule-6:
“The” is not used before School, College,
Church, bed , hospital, market, prison,
university, court, home, sea, town, mosque
when these places are visited or used for their
primary purpose.
We go to school/college. ( to learn)
Someone goes to church.( to pray)
Someone goes to bed.( to sleep)
Someone goes to market. ( to sell or buy)
Someone goes to prison. ( as a punishment)
Someone goes to hospital ( for treatment)
The ancient mariner went to sea on a long voyage.
He has not came back from work.( = workplace)

Rule-6:……..
But when these places are visited or used
for any other purpose “the” is used.
Examples:
I went to the school to see the Headmaster.
He went to the hospital to see his uncle.
Thebedisdirtyandisnowusedasadumpingbed.
We are going to the sea. (= sea shore).

“The” is not used before office and town.

Rule-9:
“The” is not used before man or woman in the
sense of mankind and before father, mother,
uncle, aunt, or baby when it expresses our
father, our mother, our uncle, our aunt, our
baby etc.
Examples:
Manandwomanshouldgosidebysidethisworld.
Womenareverysensitive. Father is hungry.
Mother is angry. Baby is crying.
Uncle is coming. Aunt is cooking.

Rule-10:
“The” is not used before Nature if it does
not indicate the behavior of someone.
But “The nature of this man is not good” is
correct.
