The curriculum of IER tried to
follow the principles of

PREFACE
s a student of Education, we all know
that education means positive change
of behavior which is endorsed by the
society. To bring positive change in
A
behavior, it is important to give the students idea
of right action along with knowledge. It is widely
agreed that the purpose of education is that
students shall be trained not only to know the right
things but also to behave in the right way. A close
relationship between right knowledge and right
action is sought for – Here the former is mostly
taken care by the Curricular Activities and the latter
part is taken care mostly by the Co-curricular
Activities.
The academic or the curricular activities are mainly
cognitive in nature and concentrate on intellectual
development of the students. However, the
objective of education is not confined to
intellectual development only but also an all-round
development of personality, i.e., emotional,
physical, psychological and social development.
Co-curricular activities
are very significant in
student life. These
activities help the
students to open and
spread their mind in
different aspects of life.
This also helps the
students activities to relax for after
the
long hassle of home
works, tests and
examinations. By taking
part in the co-curricular
activities, they can bring
out the concealed
treasures in them at
various fields like dance,
music, drama, painting,
games and many more.
students in the class or in the
school. He/she has to
organize rehearsal classes
and one final show in
presence of the students,
school head and other
teachers of the school and
the trainee’s school
coordinator and supervisors.
It is compulsory for all

ducation is not only to gain academic knowledge but also to develop all sorts of
potentials hidden inside a human being. We got in touch with little souls full of
possibilities and enthusiasm while teaching in University Laboratory School and
College. As a part of our activity, we arranged a cultural program in the school. Along
with our students I was really looking for that event to take place.
We were glad to know that this school gives the students ample opportunities to
practice different types of co-curricular activities. There we arranged a cultural
program, a math Olympiad Competition, a creative display competition, Dress as you
like competition, an art competition & an essay writing competition for the students.
This report will focus on these co-curricular activities.
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

PREPARATION
For some valid reasons we could not fix up the date at first. After rescheduling of
our previous dates, we finally fixed a date and it was the 16th September. Before
it we had to consult with the school Authority by applying formally.
We selected all the events for the program keeping on mind that we will have to
finish the program within 2 hours. Finally, we had a total of 12 performances.
Those are given later.
We listed the guests for the program. We selected 13 special guests for the

On July 23 we gave notice in every classroom about the program. We encourage
the students to participate in
program. From next day we go
every class in groups and select
some boys and girls after
observing their performance in
their respected item.
We knew who the capable
students to perform, but
because of the huge turnouts,
we had to ask for an audition.
Students performed a little in
front of us and we selected
some among them.
For art competition, we collected their paintings some days early. Among them,
we selected some for second
round to get judged. And for
the race, that also happened
early. Ummay Ubaida
Shegupta, Kanij Mehjanin
Mitu, Israt Jahan, Shihab Uddin
and me conducted a judgment

art for the competition.

Last week before the program we do final selection according to our program
structure. We took at least two students from every class.
12 | P a g e
We selected two students from class IX
as anchors of the program.
To arrange a good program a good rehearsal is must. We started our rehearsal
before 5 days of the program. This time I
was astonished watching the students’
dedication. No matter what, they were
present on time and practiced whole
heartedly. 12 items were chosen to
perform on stage. We instructed them
and made them ready. But the whole
credit of our program goes to the
students for their relentless efforts. After
school, during break and early in the
morning they were present.
13 | P a g e
We selected the costume for the
students. All the girls had to wear saree
and salwar kamiz who performed as
singer and dancer. And others who
acted they wear the dresses according
to their role.
We decided to arrange simple
refreshment for the guests. We also
arranged snacks for the performers.
We used the hall room of the school for
our program. We took chairs for the
guests and students. Md. Kamrul Hasan,
Kamrul Islam and me went for shopping
together for the room decoration.
We need to hire sound system as the school had no sound system. Principal Sir
helped a lot in this case. He gave us the permission to hire a sound system and
use.
We rented the sound system from Katabon Market for the day. They provided us
all sorts of sound equipment to run the program. The quality of sound system
was good enough. Kamrul Hasan, Kamrul Islam and I were gone there to arrange
it.
We tried our best to decorate the hall in our limited resources. We decorated
the background with the help of tissue clothes and decorating items. We also
decorated the auditorium hanging the beautiful pictures painted by our students
for the completion and thus we made an exhibition of Art Competition.
Decoration of the stage is given bellow:

ELEVENTH HOUR
A
fter taking all the preparations we were still nervous about our program. And at
the eleventh hour we helped the students for their dress up and gathered them
in one place, were checking all the managements and at last Mohammad
Yousuf went to fetch the food from chankharpul. Crossing every traffic he had reached
school safely with the food for our guests, school teachers & participants.
Before that at 8:00 am the sound system authority came to arrange their instrument
by the call of Hasan Al Zubaer Rony. All most 09:30 am we were completely prepared
for the program to start. Kanij Mehjanin Mitu and I were sent to receive our chief
guest. All the students took their seat. I looked over the preparation of performers.
Israt Jahan was engaged to control the audience’s regulation. By now we were just
waiting for the arrival of our chief guest.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION:
After prize giving ceremony, we distributed food among participants. We also arranged
food for teachers & 3rd-4th class staffs of the school. After all, we all the trainees took
foods together.
After all the performances were over the entire group of trainee-teachers hailed the
stage together and bowed the students’ goodbye. The students acknowledged our
departure with huge rounds of applauds. After concluding the ceremony we met them
for the last time, it was a heart-melting situation. They were very upset about our
parting with them and made us promise to return to meet them again whenever
possible.
MY ROLE IN THE PROGRAM
It was a group work to organize the program successfully. We take a lot of preparation
and work hard to make the program wonderful. And we are very happy for the reason
that all the students and teachers praised the program and appreciated it. My role in
the whole program was co-ordination. I along with Kanij Mehjanin Mitu prepared the
Budget. Took the cost accounts properly. I contracted with the Decorator for the stage
and chair and everyone of us took every plan together. I coordinate the rehearsal time
of different items of the program. Infact it was very hard to take all these preparation
during the school time. I and Hasan Al Zubaer Rony took the initiative to give the
participants certificates. There were lot of obstacles in front of us and we all have to
overcome those. I am happy to say that we had organized the program successfully.
We also arrange Crest for the Winners of different events. In total we gave 18
Crests in 6 zone which were handed over by the vice principal of the school. Those
photos are given later. We arrange this participatory certificate for 200 participants.
All the participants who participate in the primary selection level of the
competition, we try to motivate them for such kind of participation. All we hope
that in future they will be more motivated for take participate in competitions.

CONCLUSION
At last, we had successfully finished the cultural show without any hamper. For this, we
thanked our teachers, school-teachers, staffs and mostly our students. I think, every
school should organize and encourage students to participate in such co-curricular
activities regularly. These activities help to grow congenial relationship among students
and teachers. Moreover, these events build confidence among the students that they
can take the challenge of the competitive world.
The participants said that they are highly benefited by the program and are looking
forward to arrange such programs in the future. All the viewers agreed that they have
enjoyed a lot.

We started our rehearsal before 5 days of the program. This time I was astonished watching the students’ dedication. No matter what, they were present on time and practiced whole heartedly. 12 items were chosen to perform on stage. We instructed them and made them ready. But the whole credit of our program goes to the students for their relentless efforts. After school, during break and early in the morning they were present.

We need to hire sound system as the school had no sound system. Principal Sir helped a lot in this case. He gave us the permission to hire a sound system and use. We rented the sound system from Katabon Market for the day. They provided us all sorts of sound equipment to run the program. The quality of sound system was good enough. Kamrul Hasan, Kamrul Islam and I were gone there to arrange it.

[ IN THIS MODERN AND GROWING WORLD, ONLY KNOWLEDGE OF BOOKS CANNOT BRING THE DESIRED SUCCESS TO ANYONE, SO EVERYONE SHOULD TRY TO ADD SOME MORE EFFECTIVE CAPABILITIES TO DEVELOP THEMSELVES AS BETTER HUMAN BEINGS OF THE SOCIETY AND EXTEND THEIR SKILLS IN VARIOUS ASPECTS OF LIFE TO CREATE A SUPERIOR POSITION FOR THEM IN THE SOCIETY.] 27 | P a g e CONCLUSION At last, we had successfully finished the cultural show without any hamper. For this, we thanked our teachers, school-teachers, staffs and mostly our students. I think, every school should organize and encourage students to participate in such co-curricular activities regularly. These activities help to grow congenial relationship among students and teachers. Moreover, these events build confidence among the students that they can take the challenge of the competitive world. The participants said that they are highly benefited by the program and are looking forward to arrange such programs in the future. All the viewers agreed that they have enjoyed a lot.
