An Inter-house drama competition was organized on September 20th

their acting and script writing skills. The theme was E plori g hu a e otio s a d ho it affects our
relatio ships . The students of each House had to write the script, the dialogues, select music, make props
and enact it. The script writing of the play was done by students of grades 6-12, while the students from
grades 1-5 gave the dramatic presentation. Yellow house stood first as the students presented a play on
the relationship between a father and an unwanted girl child. Green house stood second, students
enacted a play on Gautam Buddha and his disciples while Blue house stood third - their play was based on
a Japanese farmer sacrificing his rice fields to save the people of his village.
The students performing the drama were assessed on the basis of originality of the script, usage of props,
voice modulations, technology used, act of the participants and stage presence.

Faculty attends Art & Design AS/A level Extension training
Akhil Arora, the Art and Design teacher of our school attended a two day face to face Art & Design (9704),
AS/A level Extension training at the DPSI, Saket. After an intense discussion of 35 portfolios, the trainer
from Cambridge, Ms Nicky asked the participants to moderate them. The moderations done by Akhil Arora
were highly appreciated and a certificate of participation was awarded at the end of the training.
Ardeeians visit New Gallery of Modern Arts
Art is a matter of perspective; everyone has their own interpretation of a painting, sculpture, mural or
installation. To understand the nuances of a master artist's works, Ardeeians visited the National Gallery
of Modern Art to meet Manu Parekh. Shri Parekh has been working for over 50 years now. His paintings
are most sought after by connoisseurs of art. His recent productions have been based on the ancient
city of Benares. The colours, smells and ethos of the city come alive in his paintings. The revered stone,
the holy ghats, the mesmerizing landscape all blend together in one magical piece.
The students were spellbound by all that was exhibited and asked numerous questions and tips from the
artist. Shri Parekh led the curated walk explaining his works and also gifted an autographed coffee table
book to the school.
‘Today a reader, to orrow a leader - To help discover the
joys of reading, a Book Fair was organized last week where
not one but two publishers, Scholastic and TERI stocked
books for students, teachers and parents. While we
believe that reading is the best form of self-education,
there are no limits or boundaries to what a student can
learn. The book fair offered an opportunity for Ardeeians
to acquire their favorite titles and take their preferred
author home. All students were guided on their choice of
books.
Parents who had come to pick up their wards during
dispersal and on the Parent Teacher Conference day
browsed through the books on display.
Book Fair @ Ardee
We proudly hosted our seco d Interface - inter school swim meet on Tuesday, 26th September 2017. The
swim meet saw participation from schools like The Heritage School, Shiv Nadar, Shri Ram School, Suncity
school, DPSI, DPS Ghaziabad and DPS Sector 45, Modern school along with our two branches - The Ardee

Our students from grade VI-XII visited ‘AkshayPratishthan’, a special school, as part of Community Service.
The students had collected some sports equipment which they gifted to the students there. Ardeeians also
played a soccer match with the students of AkshayPratishthan and shared some social etiquette that they had
learnt at school.
Frida Fiesta@ Ardee
Ardeeians meet Padma Shree awardee Krishen Khanna
In a once in a life time opportunity, Ardeeians met the ace creator, at close quarters at the New Friends
Colony branch last week. The 92 year old Padma Vibhushan and Padma Shri awardee left the students
spellbound as he painted a portrait on the spot. Shri Khanna is an abstract painter who specializes in oil
painting and his technique includes the use of turpentine oil to paint. He also taught the students how to
handle various kinds of paint brushes.
‘World Studies is an important aspect of the Ardee curriculum. In continuing with the tradition of
educating the students about world leaders, an exhibition was put up o the leader of the o th Frida
Kahlo. Frida was a oted artist who was k ow for pai ti g 55 self-portraits during her lifetime.
Students from all sections of the school were assigned tasks to create Frida Kahlo s portrait i differe t
forms like the serigraphy, LED light installation, pin push installation, acid and base portrait and self –
portraits looking into the mirror. Frida Fiesta was based on glimpses from her life. A replica of her of her
house Casa Azul a d garde were recreated with the help of props.
Ardeeians gave their own twist to Frida s fa ous pai ti g The Drea . Grades X-XII used student tables
to assemble her bed with the canopy. The efforts put in by the students were appreciated by visitors to
the Frida Fiesta . It was a huge success.
